This has probably already been covered, but sometimes (as in having one unit left) it is the right thing to do to hold your position. Why is this automatically seen as an NMR when the player goes in and clicks hold and ready's up?

I am thinking along the lines of another player support holding your position to keep a stalemate line going. If you move (to prevent getting dinged for reliability rating) then you lose the support hold from the other player(s) since you aren't holding.

I agree with CA.

Crazy: it's a bug. I will be fixing it and correcting the ratings. All holds should not be an NMR.

The bug is if you ready up without entering orders, so in the meantime, you can avoid the NMR by saving a move order and then saving a hold instead. However, we'll be correcting the ratings anyway, so it's not necessary to work around it.

@Ben Franklin, NMRs and CDs in cancelled games still count, but cancellation itself does nothing to your RR. You can search the site by adding "site:webdiplomacy.net" to a Google search.

Who do we need to contact with discrepancies?

Quite recently a game I participated in was cancelled; it was nearly finished, then suddenly paused by a moderator. I guess I've written over a hundred messages, but it seems those are not added up to my "game messages" total, nor are any other results of the game (e.g. defeats of other players).
However, I had a NMR early in that game, which still counts, even after the game was cancelled; is that consistent with the cancelled game policy?

In my view a NMR in a cancelled game should count as a NMR. If it happens in Year 1, the NMR may well be the reason for the cancellation.

Should cancelled NMRs count if ordinary moves of a cancelled game are not included in the all moves received total?

PS That game was cancelled by a moderator after ten or more years, if I recall correctly, certainly not because of a NMR in year 1.

Alright! Fixed it: NMRs should now NOT be charged when all holds are entered in the future. We haven't yet corrected previous records, because this turns out to be quite difficult. We'll solve it in some way, though. Stay tuned.

Just a small point but if you look at my profile you see I have NMR'd in a game called 'High Stakes Nosebleed Game' which is game I set up to run along side some fanfiction - thing is the game is anonymous and whilst this isn't a problem for this game it could be used in future to see who is playing in anonymous games.
