What if I convoy somewhere, but the convoying fleet is dislodged
Can it retreat to the missed convoy site? The rules SEEM to say no.

Best film of 2011?
So, this is where YOU, the webdip community, say which film was (or films were) the best of 2011, and discuss each other's choices.

I go for "The Tree of Life." I wasn't sure after the first time, but having seen it a couple more, I think it's one of the most beautiful films I've seen, despite being completely bizarre.

Others?

Poverty kept me from seeing too many movies this year (including Tree of Life, which I was hoping to see - I'm one of those freaks who 'gets' Terrence Malick), but of those I've seen, I'll cast my vote for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Tree of Life is downloaded and queued up for watching.

Midnight in Paris is definitely up there. So is Drive. 50/50 would probably be my 3rd favourite of the year.

I really liked the Descendants but apparently not as much as the critics. Same with Ides of March. J. Edgar was pretty underrated - I thought it was damn good.

Cool, Yonni, let me know your thoughts.

I definitely agree about Midnight in Paris. I loved that film. I also share your exact thoughts on the "Descendants." The rest are going on my list.

Im with Tolstov on this one
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was great
Personally i thought Sherlock Holmes was great, but perhaps not in the same class of some of those other movies, Downey is a jesus :)
Tolstoy (1962 D)

While everyone is queuing up downloads, I'd highly recommend The Devil's Double:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhlQOg9abRk

This got near-zero play in American theaters from what I can tell... I was only able to see it because I'm lucky enough to have an artsy fartsy theater nearby that only plays foreign and independent movies.

Nice, Tolstoy, I almost saw that with a friend. It looked pretty good. I'll check that out too.

Rango.
I really enjoyed Mission Impossible 4. It was a spectacular film, though you have to check your disbelief at the door on the way in.

I recently went to the suburb in Bombay where parts of MI 4 were placed. The place is fucking nuts, it's damn impossible to drive over 5 km/h there in any vehicle, let alone a sports car at full speed.

The Artist, possibly one of the best films I ever saw.

Completely forgot about moneyball. Really enjoyed that one too. Overall, not a bad year for films I think.

so far:
1. Drive 4/5 (I like different films and Danish directors rule plus I like Ryan Golsing. the soundtrack was amazing too)
2. Ides of March 3.5/5 (serious quality film)
3. Moneyball 3/5 (cute but clearly overrated)
I'm going to watch The Descendants tonight. Hope it's worth the hype.
btw the last Clint Eastwood movie was just too gay (but Di Caprio was great)
Cachimbo (1181 D)

To those who have seen and liked Drive, you must see these two movies from the same director:
"Valhalla Rising" (a beautifully shot contemplative movie of hardcore violence)
"Bronson" (the fascinating story of England's most "dangerous" criminal)

call me paranoid......
Would it seem unusual to anyone if two countries in a full press Anon game let the phase run right down to the last hour or so to even save, never mind ready ANY orders? Combine that with the fact that they are obviously allied may suggest Metas/Multis no? I suppose they could have chatted about meeting at said time, but.... or do I have Meta-gamer paranoia, a condition common among online dip players.....things that make you go hhmmmm
