Ankara Crescent
We're overdue for a game of Ankara Crescent. I'll start:

Under the authority granted by the 1915 appendix, I move Trieste to Rumania, convoyed via hot-air balloon over Budapest.

Turkey why you no draw?
been following this for a while looks like a stalemate to me
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
Are you one of the players?
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
I hate this situation. You can have such a lead, yet be powerless to get around the Munich blockade.
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
Still, I'd hate to win because they made a stupid mistake.
Danaman (1666 D)

Dom I assume you are the third player?
Tolstoy (1962 D)

All Turkey has to do is wait for someone to give up. It will happen sooner rather than later.
There is literally no more ground to make up unless someone eliminates Germ which than gives turkey the oppurtunity to break through
Sandgoose (0 DX)
26 Jan 12 UTC
It's not a complete stalemate, but I can't give much more detail than that. :)

Don't discuss ongoing games in the forum. And never ever discuss gunboat games period, that's against the rules of gunboat. See "Help -> Rulebook" to learn the site rules.
Dom Touche (221 D)

Thanks for the hope sandgoose. I really want to figure out how to break this.
thats true Turkey will play the patience game

You guys are discussing an ongoing gunboat game, that's against the rules and really strongly frowned upon.

You should just draw it at this point, the game has lost its integrity and you can't win anyway.
Sandgoose (0 DX)

Draugnar (0 DX)

I hate to break the rules I just pointed out, but it *is* a stalemate. It is impossible to break with tactics alone. A player would have to turn and that would be foolish in a WTA game.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jan 12 UTC
Nobody cares now, Sandgoose. You (among others) have totally violated the integrity of the gunboat, as ghug says.
Sandgoose (0 DX)

depends on England. honestly.
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
Right Draugnar. I've never seen anyone break the Munich Blockade, except for dumb luck. I really don't think it is possible. But I'd love to hear Sandgoose explain himself after the game ends. There, Sandgoose, lets hear it
Bet 4, win 36.

I could have won if I attacked Marseilles with all my forces one turn earlier, when Britain wasn't defending it. Also, if France had built a fleet in Marseilles instead of an army, it would have made for a more interesting endgame.
@Eden you beat me to it i was about to join :)
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
God I hate that. Well, that is one way to get points I suppose.
Sandgoose (0 DX)
26 Jan 12 UTC
damn you eden. oh and sure let me bring up the fact that england could have taken germany out to increase the pot draw amount. Turkey did have a chance only once when england decided to move to the med. NA should have supported the med into MAO.

England got wise on it, but turkey missed his shot.
Literally the only reason I joined was because the game was a stalemate and people were holding out on the draw. Figured that I could either get points, or get EF to eliminate G and draw at 3
yea it is, i mean Turkey you could have waited it out perhaps England would have tried to take Berlin and thus spreading himself thin on defense allowing you to take Munich
ghug (5068 D(B))
26 Jan 12 UTC
Lol, nice PE. You lost GR though.

Sandgoose, he was stalemated, he could have only won through error by England. While that may have been likely, it's my opinion that it's just rude to draw it out after you've been stalemated for a while.
"Lol, nice PE. You lost GR though."

*headdesk*
Danaman (1666 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
@ Dom Even if I build a fleet I just hold the rest of the game anyway.
Yes you should have won 3 years ago when England was protecting the wrong SC or if you could have gotten St pete (well played in the north Duke)

On a different note it is garbage that Eden can just join and win. Nothing against you Eden it is just a flaw. Also There should be an auto draw feature if after 2-3 years nothing changes.
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
If you mean the third to last move, I had just taken NA and couldn't support that kind of move. So no, that would not have worked.
agree with you there @ghug
Sandgoose (0 DX)
26 Jan 12 UTC
AH...I see Dom, touche, you win on that fact it was most def a stalemate. Should have gone for mar. first :P
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
I know, I hate it too, but I didn't want to make a bigger farce of the game by trying to negotiate the destruction of Germany with you and England.
Draugnar (0 DX)
26 Jan 12 UTC
@PE - Don't worry, it was a live game so the GR loss was *very* small.
I know, but still. It's the principle of the thing.
Bah, I gave y'all GR.
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
If Ghug is suggesting it was rude of me to draw, well, It's early in the morning, and I have to be at work early in the morning. That stalemate is part of the game, we all live with it, and we all try to become better in order to beat it.
Another valid point, it looked liike it was a well fought game anyway
Dom Touche (221 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
Still, if the other players are watching, good game to all, I enjoyed it, and have a good night.

ghug (5068 D(B))
26 Jan 12 UTC
Quite the opposite, I was suggesting that it would have been rude not to draw. Your actions were quite sportsmanlike.
Draugnar (0 DX)
26 Jan 12 UTC
@Dom - ghug was saying it wopuld have been rude *not* to draw because it was a true stalemate by 2 Eastern.
fortknox (2059 D)
26 Jan 12 UTC
Guys, Draug was right. I don't want to see this kind of crap on an ongoing game, especially anon, and especially ESPECIALLY anon gunboat.

Having said that (and the game is over), nicely done PE. It's truly a great player who avoid elimination by being necessary for a stalemates survival.
Draugnar (0 DX)
26 Jan 12 UTC
@fortknox - PE grabbed an abandoned nation at the very end and snuck in for the draw. He screwed himself out of GR but got DipPoints in it's place. :-)

call me paranoid......
Would it seem unusual to anyone if two countries in a full press Anon game let the phase run right down to the last hour or so to even save, never mind ready ANY orders? Combine that with the fact that they are obviously allied may suggest Metas/Multis no? I suppose they could have chatted about meeting at said time, but.... or do I have Meta-gamer paranoia, a condition common among online dip players.....things that make you go hhmmmm
