Dove in head-first…
Guess I spent all of my points on my first buy-in. Assuming I leave that game empty-handed how can I earn more points?

Can a draw be cancelled?
Say there are two players. One calls for a draw, but the other goes through with his orders one more time. Can he vote on the draw and pass it after the orders have been processed?
Ivo_ivanov (7545 D)

You cannot turn back time :)
But if the game not finished and you want a draw you can always do it?
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)

Yes, he can then immediately vote for the draw and get it. You have to withdraw your vote if you ever want it to cease to be valid.
So, to reiterate so there are no misunderstandings:

Player 1 votes for a draw. Player 2 does not vote, but puts in orders and finalizes. Player 2 is not happy with outcome, he is able to then vote for draw.
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)

Yes

Player 1 is able to withdraw his vote, of course.
So a person could try out something as long as he does it while the other is not online...

You better hope he doesn't read the forums.
Hey, the way I've got it figured, even if he does, it doesn't matter. Don't think he does anyways.

What I have seen, and done, is to have a draw voted on by a group of players and left hanging out there while one or two players make up their mind. Then after a particularly disaster of a turn they suddenly turn around and vote for the draw before anyone can alter their vote to a No.
That is cool and works.
Hey, this game is about deceit and going back on your word. I'm just making sure that I have a chance of it working in my favor.
Oh God, I haven't had my heart race over a game like this since the beginning.

I had to rush to put my orders in with 5 minutes to go. I waited until it was almost done so he would not have finalized and will hold everything. I think I did it.
Doesn't help that he's signed on at the time.

*exhales violently*
Eh, dammit. He support held.

I must ask now. If a person doesn't finalize his orders, doesn't it just hold everything? Because he hadn't finalized the whole time but it didn't do that.

I'm in another game where it did that as well.
I don't read the forums much but sometimes look at the top threads when getting on and off. Whatever moves you have set will be processed when the time runs out. You do not actually have to finalize as long as the orders are input properly.

Finalizing does help speed up games since when everyone finalizes the moves process soon afterward.

The Paradox Crystal game which quite and interesting one and had a rather climactic ending :) Rather neatly divided map in the draw as well.
Drats! Foiled by a lack of understanding. Still, good game sir.

I was going to go through with the Draw until I saw how you'd set Munich up, and I saw a topic where there was a link that said Turkey should never win. I wanted to prove it wrong.

So did you actually see this topic during the game?
At one point I did see one of the ealier topics after it received a few posts but already began to plan what to do in case the game continued on. I planned to bounce Tyrolia and upon seeng the thread decided to move into Skagerrack. It was interesting to see speculation on matters about the game and what would happen if I saw the topic before I began posting on it.

I determined that Naples could be defended and that Norway could too with the correct precautions. There would have been some risk for me to try to take Sweden or Venice though a trade off was possible
Well I applaud you.

The previous round, I apparently predicted your moves perfectly. I could've taken Munich I thought, then I noticed the places you could cancel the supports and inevitably succeed.

Wonder how it would've ended up if you hadn't have seen the topic.

Convoy Rules
If a fleet is convoying an army and is attacked, does the convoy fail? Assume that the attack is by only one naval unit, so it does not win the territory.

Issue with convoy?
The army at London move to Holland via convoy via convoy.
The fleet at North Sea convoy from London to Holland.
Why does it say via convoy TWICE?
Will that affect the result?

Question
Is there any way to resign a game? I joined a game not knowing it would be played under rules I wasn't familiar with. The first set of moves is not yet due, if that makes any difference. The game in question is: http://www.phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8823

A couple of noob questions
Is there any sort of move simulator so I can see how various orders would resolve?

For the specific instance I'm thinking of, if there are fleets in Denmark and Kiel, which (if either) are considered adjacent to Berlin? I think Kiel is but Denmark isn't, but I'm not sure.

CD takeover needed: France resurgent
France is needed in MMIX (#8216; click on my name to find it or http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8216).

Only 1 SC, 1 unit, no home SCs. Yet surprisingly good prospects! More inside.

Does calling someone a paranoid schizo and a wanker count as personal insults? Some people take this game too seriously, but I feel personally insulted and feel its inappropriate and not family friendly.
