Guess I spent all of my points on my first buy-in. Assuming I leave that game empty-handed how can I earn more points?

Can a draw be cancelled?
Say there are two players. One calls for a draw, but the other goes through with his orders one more time. Can he vote on the draw and pass it after the orders have been processed?

Convoy Rules
If a fleet is convoying an army and is attacked, does the convoy fail? Assume that the attack is by only one naval unit, so it does not win the territory.

Issue with convoy?
The army at London move to Holland via convoy via convoy.
The fleet at North Sea convoy from London to Holland.
Why does it say via convoy TWICE?
Will that affect the result?

Question
Is there any way to resign a game? I joined a game not knowing it would be played under rules I wasn't familiar with. The first set of moves is not yet due, if that makes any difference. The game in question is: http://www.phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8823

A couple of noob questions
Is there any sort of move simulator so I can see how various orders would resolve?

For the specific instance I'm thinking of, if there are fleets in Denmark and Kiel, which (if either) are considered adjacent to Berlin? I think Kiel is but Denmark isn't, but I'm not sure.

Personal Insults
Does calling someone a paranoid schizo and a wanker count as personal insults? Some people take this game too seriously, but I feel personally insulted and feel its inappropriate and not family friendly.

http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8456
Yes it counts as a personal insult, if thats your question. Nothing in the rules against that though.

I feel there should be some decorum in the sight. If you violate some simple rules, you will be invited to go elsewhere.

Honestly, I would laugh at them for not coming up with something better than wanker....I also don't see how you are personally insulted by people smack talking on the internet.

Just to comment on being called a wanker, I think the word wanker is hilarious. I know it's kinda a big insult in other countries but it sounds so silly to my ear.
EdiBirsan (1469 D(B))

It is common to be called paranoid in Diplomacy, and not that much of an insult. As for Wanker and various other slang terms common in the British (or is it Australian) Culture, I find it rather silly and more indicative of the speaker/writer than the target.
There are several people that I know of that use PbEM as an outlet for grotesque spewing of a highly distasteful manner and in one instance it is a designed ploy to dirve someone out of the game or off of his 'game'.
I find it revolting, and have sought to remind people that they should behave as if they are invited over to your mother's house to play a board game with your daughter in the room.
Nevertheless, in the current game culture where people regularly hide behind nicknames/anonymous play ((beat the dead horse here ....)) and feel that the big bad bogey man is behind every internet communication, the deranged behavior of some anti social types is part of the game culture that has been displayed. Then again the current email game culture is not that social.
I initiated the game. ADX is a good player but for some reason got into a P Match with Russia. Not sure why. Wish Russia would drop it. As to rules -- why do you some people want a rule for everything? Is this the Age of Obama or what?

Groovy baby :D

Personally, if I was to call someone something I stick to classy insults, like numbnuts, tapioca brains, and the infamous... moran.
I like "wanker." It is sooooo Cockney cool. Just like "forthwith" is snobby English cool.
By the way, XC, it's MORON, no "A."

Ya maroon!

That being said, let me also state what Chainsaw Diplomacy is not. It is not crude. Foul language has no place in any press, including Chainsaw press. It is not insulting -- threatening perhaps -- but not insulting. Name calling will not serve the purpose of getting your message across. It is not venting your spleen. "Chainsaw press may be crafted to appear like an emotional outburst, but it never should be. It is a cool, calculated attempt to acheive by unreasonable statements, threats and demands, that which you were unable to acheive previously through reasonable negotiation."

Sounds like a fun variant to me, you filthy nimrods - if it was intentional that's a very clever Elgar pun!

My view has always been you can use as much bad language as you want, but I would hope you don't. Diplomacy should allow you to make your own decisions, but I would think most people have enough sense to realise that swearing at someone is rarely the way to an alliance!
