Forum Format

Based on the activity of this community and frequency of posts, I think we could use a new forum format.

I checked the todo link to see if this was on the agenda and found exactly the type of forum I had pictured at the developer site. Could we not use the same format for this forum? My own suggestion for organization would be:

Moderator!: Here you can report issues with the site, individual games, or other players. Mods can also post site updates or breaking news.

Help!: Technical or rules advice regarding the game of Diplomacy or phpDiplomacy.

Strategy and tactics: Advice and suggestions for taking over Europe, or at least not being overrun in 1902.

After Action Reports: Enlighten us with your perspective of a recently completed game. (should be able to upload screenshots)

Game requests: Post your upcoming game and call for players

Suggestion box: Just what it says.

Off topic: anything else

Anyway, just my two cents.

But don't you find it annoying that posts disappear after a few days or that there's no way to 'sticky' important messages? I'm sure lots of interesting topics have been discussed which we simply can't access with this type of Forum.

This format isn't really concrete enough. Too haphazard for my tastes.

I like this style, its so different from other more "concrete" forum layouts. i find other forums to diffused and spread out, you cant get a sense of the community as a whole and whats on peoples minds. as for slimming it down so threads stay longer Multiaccounter accusations could be emailed directly to the mods, especially if there were a few more of them(we have 3 now i think?) but their emails are kinda hidden away in their profiles. We could also expand the FAQ to inlude some simple and complex rule guides.

Hello, that's me :D
This comment has come up many many times before, and I've been a strong supporter of it. Some minor changes have already been made for the next release, and so before I say any more on the issue I'd like to see how those come through. Also, the same stands for the FAQ. I'd like to see it completely rewritten, but that shouldn't be happen when there are a number of changes just around the corner!

if one in seven wont play...

What could we do if one of seven players dont want to continue to play?? can a moderator push this player out?? can he play alone, the others continue in another game??
He s the one not to unpause, he may want to continue to do so for ever, can a moderator do something?

multiaccounter

in this game http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8120, austria and russia are the same person (general grevious and rommeltastic). they put on a show for the first couple rounds and then don't attack each other. when i write messages they respond in the same way. for example when i asked if they were the same guy they both responded in the same way.
