Obama's Speech
Obama has asked Congress to delay a military strike vote until the US can see if Syria will agree to relinquish chemical weapons, thoughts?

And did anyone else catch this little gem? "Neither Assad or his allies have any interest in escalation that would lead to his demise"

Why is satire never used by the religious against the nonreligious? Are the faithful just taking the high road, or is it, as I suspect, that satire can only be used to poke fun at the inherently ridiculous?

Jesus Fucking Christ! You fucktards need to get a fucking life.

Mujus: This isn't a religion forum. Any thread you start hereis liable to get attacked by Nigee or YJ.
Lando: This is the wild wild west of forums. If someone wants to attack Mujus for being a fucking whiny cry baby bitch, so be it.

@ Draugnar:

Thank you for sort of sticking up for me in a round-about way, but I'm not sure it's really necessary to start a new thread to complain about some other threads. You could just have posted in the threads in question, surely?

I agree with your comments though.

For the record, I did *not* attack Mujus, and I don't think SYnapse did, either, whatever Lando decided to read into his thread. It was just a harmless attempt at humour.

It's hard to conclude anything else. I understand not involving the mods, and I agree with that. But the fact that there have not been other people calling YJ out for his juvenile and disgusting behavior is telling. It would have been different if he'd pulled that stunt in a thread you didn't already dislike.

@Yellowjacket, please refrain from posting any more links that are filtered at my work as pornography/distasteful (the ones today were the first I've ever had that problem with on this site) or I'll assume they are links to cheating accusations until I can confirm otherwise later in the day.

@Draug - what you on about, I'm not going to attack Mujus, I think he is a lovely man. The only reason I muted his previous threads was because it got a tad boring and I felt I'd heard it all before. I have nuff respect for the guy, big up to Mujus, God Bless You.

I think JMO just threatened YJ that if YJ somehow offends JMO's Office Nazis that he will be silenced for cheating accusations. I mean that is what happens to those who post cheating accusations, is it not?

So, JMO, just because your Office Nazis would restrict free speech, you believe it is right for you to threaten others? Harrumph! I feel a Draugma rant for threatened abuse of power coming on. :-)

Let's upgrade the art of insult and start questioning the value of a guy for real, not just by calling silly names.

Yellowjacket!
How comes it you always sound like a fussy old fogey with your scholastical lessons of logic and argumentation? At the same time you style yourself as a radical social satirist and master of merriment and laughter as if you were the one keeping this forum in a state of a merry carnival, without old YJ it would be dull and dreary and abandoned to a totalitarian fundamentalism - political and religious.
You proclaim yourself as "hilarious". From Greek and Latin: "cheerful, gay, merry, joyous".
While I grant this is not a bad aspiration, I like it as such, but unfortunately
you do have a peculiar feeling for what kinds of sentiments and influences that make yourself and others cheerful and joyous. I'd definitely say it needs a lot of development.

I can note and appreciate your talent. I understand that you are used to be granted and treated as belonging to the "intelligent", but I am left wondering at your age.
I can't remember I was ever such a pompously fussy oldie as you, nor was I ever so immature.

This is strictly AdHominem as it is meant to be.
"How can you possibly be happy with your behaviour?". I repeat this quote from Lando above.
No you cannot.
I'd prefer not to have to say this, I am not a Christian, but: YJ, you'd actually NEED, as a thirsty man, to let some Jesus flow into your heart and seek friendship in that kind of quarters. I reckon that is the straightest, perhaps only opportunity for you to develop some matured character.

Sylence (313 D)
11 Sep 13 UTC
Well, I bow, YJ.

I may take your "insightful look into the recesses..." as irony or sincere. I take it as both.
As such it is a profound and complex answer.
I am not so conceited as to think that I can give a briefing of anyones soul.
We're the weatherbeaten captains of your own souls tossed about on the stormy seas. (I hope I shall not be attacked for being "religious" now...)

I could for some reason not run that Dennis Leary on Youtube, but I read the lyrics now.

Just a general remark: I am European. I must not forget that there's a difference in what issues the people take sides on, over here and over there the pros and cons they must relate to, how identities are defined.
Like the religion pro or con thing is not such a intrinsical stance here in Europe.

But all in all, I'd say the most essential difference is simply that America is more of everything and just years ahead of Europe on the same track.
The impressions and situations you had to deal with 20yrs ago are the same as the European must deal with now
more or less
