@BPT - MajrMasshole misspoke. He said people should try for a draw after the solo or some such (a page or two back and I don't feel like searching). I sarcastically got on his case for misusing after even though I new what his intent was. He then went off calling me all kinds of insults to cover up his insecurity. But oin the process he admitted that I, as an american, should be able to understand what he emant when he made such a blatant error (he called it ambiguous and tried to say after meant something it doesn't). So krellin pointed out that he had complimented us Americans, calling us smarter than his English brotheren.

& Dwaugnar has incorrectly concluded that I implied that those for whom English is a second language should have a better understanding of nuances of usage depending on context, what I was implying was the opposite, or antithesis.
I would expect those for whom English is a second language to be less equipped to understand the subtle nuances of usage where meanings can be determined by understanding context
As far as whom I would regard as someone for whom English is a second language,
I was thinking more of people for whom, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese etc is their "first" language
There is something novel, but delightful about considering Americans as those for whom English is a "second language", when they are not Hispanic, but silly old white chaps like Dwaugnar
