How does one provide PERFECT sea coverage in the north in 1901??
How does England KNOW to go Edi-NWG and Lon-NTH in 1901, providing perfect naval coverage so quickly?? Is he just a keen and whaskelly rabbit of a player? Seems suspicious to me.

Dreams
As tacky as this may sound I love dreaming. But my favorite thing is when I have a lucid dream and start flying around. I haven't gotten far with my dreams other than just flying around I always wake up if I trying to mess to much with my dreams. But I was wondering if anyone here would have similiar if not better stories about their dreams.

So, what's the difference between Sarg's "high pot" and Lando's "high quality" games?

I know I can join Sarg's, because I have enough points, but can I join this one? Do I have the quality?
Too many points, sorry.

Also, you have to be at the airport.

@Lando: We had a nearly flawless alliance working together - that is why I love working with you. What I don't understand is why you removed your draw vote after taking Naples and then tried to stab me? You almost cost us the game.

@Seth: Sorry for having to cut you out at the end there. I really did try to hold you in the live for quite a number of years - but I realised that I needed to take Berlin to seal the stalemate line I had formed with Lando's Turkey.

@P-Man: Well done to you! Impressive manouerving across the map.

@ava: God damn you and your stubborn Austria! Well fought!
Sarg - as I said in PM, I removed my draw vote because I thought three-way was easy and was worried France would be spooked from losing so much. I am still at a loss on what I did to stab you, never intended to make any move against you.

Ava/2wl - good game to both of you, but I wish you didn't force me into that corner. Was trying to show peace to Italy the whole game, I was dumbfounded when he didn't disband the dislodged unit in SMY and build at home.

i guess i moved to the stalemate line to soon, oh well. anybody have any advice i on anything i should improve on?
Sargmacher (0 DX)
25 Jul 12 UTC
@Lando: Ah interesting. I just thought that you removed your draw vote because you fancied your chances after France had backed off into WMed and you had shot up to 11 centers. I saw you remove your draw vote and so I decided to build a fleet in Sevastapol as precaution. I presume that must have spooked you because you then threw all your units round towards me - while I, for the most part, held a line, rather than outright attacking you but because you threw everything towards me, I then responded in kind.

Strange really - because we had worked each's intentions out very well up and to that point. I half wondered whether your removed draw vote was in relation to Germany but I didn't want to run the risk.

@Seth: I think you did very well all things considered. I think you were just unlucky to be the sandwich filler rather than the bread.

It's impossible to play a strong Austria in gunboat on this site...have to resort to guerilla tactics.

In ftf its probably 10 times easier to get to 7-8 centers by 1905 :@
Maybe if you didn't just bounce yourself after Turkey the whole way you'd have more options ;-)

I feel that Austria needs a very specific set of circumstances in the early game in order to do well which are rarely met in gunboat play.

I played like crap tonight, I opened with the Lepanto, which I rarely do, and then tried to overthink my attack on Turkey. I considered immediately moving west and correctly read that France would attack England, but I stupidly pushed east instead when I should have pressured Spain and Marseilles. Next time, I'll opt for my usual Italy opening and attack Austria right off the bat :)

Did anyone else enjoy the masterclass in working together that was mine and Lando's Juggernaut? (Barring the minor hiccup, that is)

I think a large part of that is reading the orders log but also analysing your neighbour's movements and getting into their head so that you can predict what they will do. Lando and I seem to do that effortlessly when placed next to each other!
I never read the order log ;-P,

Attacking Austria right away never works. It just encourages a Jug that you don't want.
Better to attack after they start fighting or if Austria leaves his back open.

2WL - in S1902 I first entered the following moves:

VIE-TYR
TRI S SER-BUD
SER-BUD
BUD-RUM
GRE-ION

At that point I was not convinced about the jugger. But then I changed my moves just in case. :D You're lucky

Looking back I still feel I could have gotten away with it. Might have lost an SC to Russia in the short run but would've probably gotten up to 7 or 8 before death

In the end, we both would have died anyway, but I thought the juggernaut was fairly obvious. It's a high level gunboat game, and assuming standard opening moves, it's usually a juggernaut first the first few turns.

But yeah, I was worried for a bit ;)

Linksruck
Ah, the sign of the times.
The World Dip game "Rechtsruck" (shift to the right, as in political) took only a day or so to fill and start. Everyone, it seemed, wanted a piece of that action.
"Linksruck", on the other hand (guess what 'links' means) failed to get 17 players so I re-, ah, christened it and it looks like we'll be short again! What a difference a generation makes.
