Can I remove a game from "My games" once defeated?
I've been defeated yet the game still appears in "My games" tab. Can I remove it since I of course don't have any orders to put in? Or I've got to wait till the game is finished?

EOG Sargmacher's 5 Point Challenge: Game 6
I'm not the usual EOG-writer, but I'm very interested in what was going on in the end so I thought I might as well write my first EOG.

I've been playing Italy in this one.

Up to some point the game was quite straightforward:

01:
Austria's move to Ven didn't seem to friendly in Spring, so I thought I could answer it in Fall. Didn't expect to take Tri.

02:
Tried to maintain some pressure on Austria while continuing against Turkey. Surprisingly Smy wasn't covered in Fall, but I decided against the possible build for landing my army. Eas-Smy, Ion-Gre would have probably been better as it would have cost him a build.

03:
Driven out of Turkey and no progress in Austria. Built a fleet for the disbanded army with the intention to seal Ion. I'm not a fan of enemy fleets in Ion or TyS. :)

04:
Setting everything up to push against Austria. Ion-Adr to force me to Tri and allow the expected retreat from Aeg. Ion should be safe for a while and with the convoy to Alb, Austria should have a problem.

05:
WTF MISORDER... the coward Commander of the Garrison in Trieste refused to support his brothers from Alb into Ser.

06:
After an Austrian disband - thanks to Russia, I am finally able to take Austrias last two centers.

07:
Turkey and me are having some fun on the Balkan while my fleets lock his ones up where they can't hurt anybody. But, France seems to show intentions to join the party by moving to Wes and Mar, so I have to spare an army to seal Pie.

08:
France doesn't stop moving to Tun and there seems to be a Russian assault on Vie. Thus, I have to ease the pressure on Turkey. It's not likely that I'll ever make progress there anyways, as he isn't engaged in any other conflicts.

09-11:
Rumbling on the Balkan. France eventually takes Tunis while I am taking a shot on one of his centers, but fail to fetch it. Germany grows and applies pressure on France.

12:
I have to turn against Germany and France to avoid being sandwiched and to take my share of the French cake.

13:
Finally took Tun back from France. Turkey makes progress against Russia. The game finally starts looking like a 3way.

14:
I continue assisting Turkey and make slow progress against France.

15:
I need an army for Mar, so I'm shifting my defense against Germany. Bit lucky that he didn't outguess me on Gal. Turkey takes my support for Ukr-Gal in Autumn, so everything seems fine again. It seems a bit odd that Germany holds the last Russian army in StP. Turkey wouldn't be a threat there and Germany could take it back whenever he wants.

16:
That's about when the game became very odd. This should be set up for a 3way, but...

Spring:

Germany is holding Mar... odd. He could have gone for it, or give it to me - neither of us is a threat for the other one there, but him holding Mar wasn't on my game plan.

Also, he gave up Sil and could have lost Mun with that Bel-Ruh-Mun-Kie shift.

Autumn:

Now look at this... wtf? He evacuates Ber - in Autumn. Turkey takes Ber accidentally with one lousy army whily he just intended to tap it to take Prussia. Nor and Fin just hold?! ECh-Irish?!? Bur-Par? And still holding Mar. All this is followed by a disband in Sil.

I absolutely fail to see the point of this set of moves.

By giving away Berlin Germany shifts the game from a clear 3way to a realistic solo-chance for Turkey.

17:

Considering Germany's latest moves I thought I could give Mun a try. With Germany's help I am finally able to make progress against France.

In fall I am able to bounce Turkish attacks on Vie, Tri, Tun, but lose Bud. Turkey should have gone for Nap instead of Tun, this would have denied me the build.

However, I think Turkey's solo-chance was intact - especially considering Germany's latest moves, but luckily for me he agreed to draw, so the result is a 5way with France and Russia on 1 center. Not what I'd have expected.

This was one fine game. Congratulations to all, especially Poozer and Lando.

Now I'm not the diplo-pro and Lando is certainly way more experienced than me. I'd be very interested in his point of view on the moves of the last 1-2 years.

Hey Mr A, took me a few to find this thread (send Lando the link?).

I was playing Turkey.

01: I wanted to try a bit of a different opening, and move aggressively against Russia. To my surprise I did not bounce in Bla, so this was relatively a success. Austria was also extremely supportive and helped me into Rumania, destroying the Russian fleet and giving me very good standing.

02: Not particularly surprising, but Italy goes for the Lepanto. He also stabs Austria, which was a surprise to me, though perhaps a good call on his part since austria seemed to be allied with myself.

03. Austria is quickly dying, and my fleet in Bulgaria is proving exceptionally useless, perhaps poor building choices on my part.

04-12: Austria in a desperate attempt to save himself attacks me, causing me to lose two SC's, at which point I am getting pretty worried. But fortunately, Italy makes a play for greece, allowing me to destroy his lepanto'd army. Slowly I am able to regain my SC's and force Italy out to the Ionian.

Throughout all of this, Germany is ever growing stronger, I believe at some point around this time I voted for a draw, in hopes of getting Italy to withdraw.

1913-1917: My draw vote is successful, in that Italy withdraws and we begin working well together forming a stalemate line and driving back the German forces.

Russia and France are reduced to 1SC each, and I have a fairly glorious opportunity to stab Italy and go for the solo... unfortunately Italy has played this extremely well, against both my and Germany's solo attempts, and sees it coming from a mile away, so I believe I only pickup one of his supply centers.

-----

I agreed to a draw, I think I agreed too quickly, since we really should have removed Russia and France, however in the moment I just decided a draw seemed appropriate, as Lando (Germany) had also voted for it. I also feared that Italy may full out attack me, giving Germany the leverage he needed to restart his solo attempt. In retrospect I would have given Germany StP, and I believe he would have given Portugal to Italy, but such is life.

I assume Germany was also playing for the 3-way draw (he's said as much to me afterward), which is why he destroyed the unit in Silesia and lost Berlin.

Overall I was pretty happy with how the game went. My opening against Russia was quite successful, unfortunately Austria did not play particularly well after that first year, so I really never had an ally in this game, with the exception of Italy in stopping a German solo attempt.
Hi guys, I don't really have much to say about the start but will talk about the end game as that appears to be the point of biggest confusion.

I got to 12 centres pretty quickly in this one, but T and I had their act together and looked poised to stop me. I wanted to win, of course, so I tried to figure out how best to play it out. I knew there was a stalemate as was.

So, I left Berlin for Turkey to take. I was surprised he got it so quickly, but this was good. The hope was that he would stab Italy and I would help Italy set up a stalemate line at TUN. From there, I would try and re-maneuvre a fleet to get a shot at BER> I had STP stalemated and figured this was a good opportunity for a T/G two-way draw. Unfirtunately, Turkey clicked draw. I only voted it to help Italy decide to move back East.

Sorry for trying to play you out of the game, Mr. A. Great job to stay in it. I am disapointed that we could not finish off the Russian, as he was my biggest enemy all game. He stabbed me a bunch despite me not really attacking him. France was a pretty good neighbour, though.

No need to excuse for trying to get me out of the game. That's what the game is all about, right? :)

Thanks for your thoughts, Lando. So your plan was a 2way. I never go for 2ways myself, probably a mistake, so I failed to see this intention.

Especially as I don't think you would have been able to take Berlin back. As long as Turkey doesn't give you Livonia or misorders that should be impossible. And you risked the Turkish solo in case you wouldn't have been able to fetch Tunis.

But overall it was a fun game and it seems that I was not unlucky to be in the draw - even if it hurts to draw with two 1sc powers.

Congratulations all!
Well, I would have loved a solo, but Figured that I wouldn't have a shot at both TUN and BER.

I was just trying to mix things up, really, I knew Turkey would never stab you if I just held the line, so I helped convince him to make a move. I tend to believe I am good in those purely-tactical situations so I would have welcomed the challenge of racing to a stalemate line.

Novogord Chronicles, Mongols and Russia
In my world history class, we're talking about Mongols and their impact on Eurasia. In this one excerpt from the Novogord Chronicles, the passage says that the Mongols demanded "give us your numbers for tribute." I was just wondering what the heck "numbers" is referring to. Thanks!

Public Press World Game!
So, I really enjoy the World variant. I've played a couple full press and gunboat games, but have never tried a public press game. I personally think that such a game would be rather fun, with tons of potential for negotiation on a global forum.

Henotheism
Henotheism is the belief and worship of a single god while accepting the existence or possible existence of other deities. The term was originally coined by Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling (1775–1854) to depict early stages of monotheism, however Max Müller (1823–1900), a German philologist and orientalist, brought the term into common usage.
