live games are awesome. Saturday of what timezone are we talking about?

I think everyone wants the game to start about 1 PM EST on Sat. But here's the important part-Everyone MUST agree now to pause at a specified time, for example 10 pm, and continue on Sunday if necessary.

Why go through all this trouble? Because I've been in 3 live games where everyone paused except 1 person and that person stayed up all night and waited out the clock for everyone else to go into CD and essentially cheated his way to victory.

We can set up a password so that only people who agree to this rule can play.

So who wants in? State your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions right here, and you shall receive the password.

How do we make the password so no one else sees it?

To be perfectly clear, its 1-10 PM on Sat, pause, continue on Sun at noon

Does everyone want to email me to say they accept the terms and get the password? THis would prevent another player from coming into the game and stealing our territories in the middle of the night.

Or if everyone states in this forum that they accept the terms, we can try it without any password, it would be on the honor system that way.

And a 3rd way to do it is I think what idealist is setting up on another game and proposed by a moderator Chrispminis:

THere is "always a very real risk when you're playing fast games, and definitely something you should take into account. My advice for you is that if you want to start a fast game, simply set the phases to something like 24 hours, and agree to finalize ASAP. That way, if someone has to drop out, the game simply reverts to a normal length game, and nobody can profit off of the mass CD."

So I will go along with any of these 3 ways to set it up, as long as everyone agrees before the game starts that we will stick to it.

germ, u can't set an invisible game. but u can add a password to a game, and only people on this thread can see it.

and guys, if you're lame enough to stay up whole night and wait the turns...then damn...i feel sorry for your life...
plus..if its 48 hours, people can't cheat.
we don't even have to "pause the game." we can simply say
"let's meet up tomorrow at 10!"

because if you're talking about honor systems, I just thinkit;s fair that everyone knows they will be up agianst a locked alliance before you start...

We've played games with most of these guys before subbrain. germ and I use different computers and don't always ally. This is why you, subbrain, are the biggest joke on the forums.
