confused!

How long do I need to stay in a center for it to be mine? See Belgium and Denmark...Are these truly the right color?

The first thing that I thought was suspicious about this game is that the winner "won" with only 14 SCs. The second thing was that all the IDs are consecutive and it was a private game.

There does seem to be a lot of fighting going on in that game, though, so maybe it's just some friends who joined together. Several of those players have been together in other games like...

How could England win with only 14. Even with Multi/Meta he'd need to take the centres.

not necessarily i was in a game a few days ago where all of the people besides me CDed (i guess some guy decided to be a massive multiaccounter) and i didnt automatically win the game

I've thought since I joined that three of the players in http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=10434 look suspicious. No communication at all from them and I see them pop up frequently in the games grncton mentions above. Is anything ever done to investigate things like that and is something done about it?

Yes, when it is brought up, like in this case, usually a moderator will investigate. There was a bunch of bans handed out a few weeks back.

Meteorman15, did the phase end while everyone else was CD, or did other people pick up the CDs before the phase ended? It may require the phase ending to notice that everyone is CD since the CD's were caused mid-phase by bannings.

At the end it comments that multi-accounters are really rare. That may be the case in general, but in the couple of months I've been here there have been several.

The below is based on what I've seen on the forums the past few months including what I've seen moderators say about such things. But I'm not a mod so I'm not speaking for them.

What most people do is create a post, like this one, with links to the games, and if you are really sure, user names. But, do NOT put the user names in the first post. Put them in a reply to the first post. Or just send an email to a moderator if you can figure out who they are and get their email address from their profile.

In this case, if the people are involved in the games listed above in the opening of this thread, then just list them here.

@alderian: im not sure when the person joined all that i know is that i logged on one day and realized that it was me and a new person as france and everybody else had gone cd

@gjdip: yes, if you see suspicious behavior, you just start a thread in the forum like this one. Make sure the accusation is posted as a reply and not in the head post because it's considered bad form to name names in the subject. Although in this case, it looks like some of the players you're concerned about are the same ones from my inquiry. If that's true, you might just want to give the details in this thread.

anyone interested?

me and some friends have been playing private games, but we only have 5 players, so 2 countries are always CD. if anybody would be interested in playing some casual games with low points and doesnt mind that fact that some of the other players know each other, post a message.

Irony

I am American (Minnesota), born and bred. A while ago I had a college professor (he was from Scotland) tell the class that he was going to skip the section on Irony in our Introduction to Shakespeare class because every American has a "pure and internal understanding of the word" and there was nothing he could teach us about it that we didn't already truly understand.
