@fig: the idea comes from how it's hard to pick the best 7 people from 3 games, and it also allows for how it's easy to be the one that gets ganged up on by all three neighbors in the first year and be out just like that. here's how it works out. we figure that anyone who wins should move on, no matter what so they get 36 points. even if someone were to end both of his or her games with 17 scs, he or she would only have 34 points. this convention is for convenience. and draws split it out by number of players involved in the draw, equally sharing in the available points. we'd then pick the top 7 people by points, reverting to seeding in the case of a tie, for the final round.
the tricky thing about the original seedings is that the thread with them scrolled off, so only kestas would be able to look at it now. i drafted up a seeding for round two based on performance in the first round. perhaps we could use that to break ties?
if anyone cares, here's the method i used for second round seeding:
based on what TOgilvie had said back when the first draw came in, those involved in draws were seeded below those who were not. then they were ordered by: # of scs, # of units, points+1/7 the pot of games player hasn't been eliminated in (as of friday afternoon GMT-6).
one thing i'm concerned about is if everyone who moved on is around and able to play. i could make a list of alternates if needed. what would be helpful is if everyone on the above list could send me an email to
[email protected] letting me know they're in.
