I liked the first one, but hope the next one is a bit better.

What I'm saying is, didnt the first Xfiles movie prove there was aliens? or am I remembering wrong

The X Files constantly doubles back on its continuity and the aliens are real/not real thing. I think this is like the 3rd time Mulder has determined its the government not the aliens, and by the end it probably will be it's the aliens not the government.

I dont think that episode tonight made any sense at all lol it just sort of.... ended

Apparently they had to rush it, because despite only being 6 episodes, they for some reason decided the middle 4 should be Monster of the Week episodes. Like yeah, I get MOTW was the bread and butter of Xfiles, but if you're only doing 6 episodes, you should stick to a single story arc.

The second episode and the Monster of the Week type are more the classic X-File episodes. Something weird is going on and all the evidence is being removed by a government group. The parts where Mulder and Scully imagined what it would have been like if they had kept their son, William, was their personal connection to the case.

The second episode relates to the arc as possible shadow group experimenting with alien DNA on humans. Also the tie-in to Scully's first pregnancy with Emily and is her disappearance related to these experiments. They hid William to prevent it happening and wonder if they did the right thing.
