Watching my roommate play Nack on it now.

Its terrible, don't buy, waste of money. Huge waste, terrible terrible product.

It's *not* $100 cheaper than the XBox, because the XBox comes with the Kinext camera. PS4 does not come with the camera...which everyone will eventually buy anyway (especially if you have girls that play dance games)....so the price point is the same.

XBox native environment / store / media hub integration, etc is still going to be superior.

As it always is, PSx will be an awesome system, and PSx fanboys will love it and cast vicious aspersions on XBox.

And XBox <x> fans will love XBox One, and cast vicious aspersion on PSx

...and both Sony and Microsoft will laugh their asses off all the way to the bank, and about 1 1/2 from now fans of both systems will start whispering to one another, "I wonder what the next one will look like...?"

Well Mr. CF and I are looking at maybe buying it sometime next year with some of the tax return money we'll get, but we want to know how people like it.

Everything is terrible, esp the fact that I don't have it.

Anyways, never been a fan of consoles, mouse and keyboard ftw.

ILN - I am a PC Gamer at heart, and I agree mouse and keyboard for the win....but I bought my XBox 360 about 2 years ago, and I haven't had to upgrade my graphics card since then....I agree that aiming in FPS with dual joysticks is not as "precise' as the m/k combo, and yet I am still at an equal footing with my opponents, and really maybe even more equal than PC since we are all on the same hardware (other than I have a giant hi-def screen, and others may not have that).

Oh...I certainly do like playing on my huge flat panel better than computer monitor, too. Yes...technically a monitor get's better graphics than the 1080p - but I'm quite content.

So...I guess what I'm saying is that as much as it pains me to admit it, I think I am converted console gamer.

The day someone finally puts up a legitimate MMORPG on the console, that will be the final nail in the coffin, because that the only thing that keep me wanting to go back to PC...except I can't find a MMORPG that holds my attention after my wife and I spent too many years in WoW. ...so my draw to the PC fades daily...

You can always hook up your PC to your tv with an HDMI cable if screen size is a reason for console.

Yeah we're looking at getting a 55 inch tv on Black Friday. It'll be both our anniversary/Yule/Chirstmaswhateverholiday you wanna call it present. Mr. CF is very much looking forward to a bigger tv.

Funny Krellin I find the opposite is true. I was a console gamer for the longest time, but games like Civ V and several MMO's have made me into a PC gamer much more.

ILN - no, it's not the reason for the console (TV screen)...it's just an added benefit, because I don't' have to argue with my wife about why I am hooking the computer up to the TV when i have a perfectly good monitor! lol

Oh ditto. I will admit to having my 3DS with me at almost all time. So that may be curbing some of the console game cravings that I would otherwise have.

You play WoW? Wow...... I tried it once, seemed pretty fun but huge waste of time really, and its reputation of being highly addicting and filling your table with coke and cheetos wasn't really attractive. RTS cames are best, with an occasional simcity4 and counter strike :D

Anyways, I too was considering getting a ps4, so I'm curious what people will say, although I'm pretty sure most will say its good.

CF - What MMO's are you playing?

MY wife and I played World of Warcraft up to level 80 (I think)...through the Cataclysm if you are familiar with WoW...and it just became a grind.

So I have tried other MMO's, and the quality just wasn't there. Some people have issues with WoW, but it is an incredibly well done game.

So if I could find an excellent MMO....then I'd probably have to upgrade my graphics card, and that really bums me out...so I'm not looking that hard any more just because I just don't want to rebuild another rig...

If you're into indie games and such, then the PS4 is where most of the developers are going for consoles. Not only that, if you're looking at the best game developers - Ubisoft, Naughty Dog, etc - they develop solely for PS4. And while they require you to subscribe to PS Plus if you want to play games online, you get like 3 free games a month with the subscription. And they're not crap games either.

Besides, not many people use the camera anyways, so it still costs you $100 less. Its a gamers console.

Krellin, did you hear about EVE online? I saw it on steam and it looked quite interesting,and I especially liked the business aspect of the game.

Okay, so apologies, Ubisoft and Naughty Dog don't develop solely for PS4 (saying this before it bites me in the ass) but they are currently working on games that are PS4 exclusive releases.

@Krellin I played WoW up to where you did. Atm I'm only playing Marvel Heroes on occasion. FF XIV was pretty good, especially if you liked WoW. I really love LOTRO but I don't like playing solo all the time.

It's better than the Xbox 1 because 4>1

@goldie -- I've heard such analysis - it's a gamers concole, yadda yadda. I just simply do not buy that. Both systems will have their stash of awesome games, a bunch of OK games and then other games. But in our house, the camera is essential (girls...Just Dance...). Also, we use the XBox as our media hub probably more than a game console - no cable / no sat tv, so Netflix streaming, music streaming, etc is a primary function too, and the interface on XBox is well done, and looks to be even better on the XBox One.

Free games...all good and well, but I can't finish most of the games that I speficially purchased, so getting a shitload of free games becomes less important for me. if I were unmarried, that would be good....but if I were unmarried, my decision would probably be "Whatever most of my friends are getting" because I would rock on kicking their asses in multi-player.

@ILN -- tried a free-to-play 4 a couple week a few years back on Eve....complex, never got in to it. I know it is a niche space game with complex controls, and incredibly loyal following and I am intrigued by it. Read articles about shit that happens in there sometimes (guild stuff) and it cracksme up and I wish I was a part of it...but I'll probably never go there, just because i think it would require more of a time commitment than I have at this point (until the kids go to college....3 years from now...at which time I will be too broke for the next 5 years to upgrade my graphics card!!! lol)

@CF - Marvel Heroes? Wife and I did play City of Heroes for a while and loved the super hero thing. Joule's Law was my cigar-chompin' bad-ass hero, with electric power as his main thing and he could fly. <sigh....> Yeah....Joule's Law definitely kicked some ass!

The XBox does a lot of things well, krellin, and for certain people its perfect. I tried not to bash that console in my comments (besides on price) and just stuck to some perks the PS4 had. For your situation though, it sounds like Microsoft made the better system

goldie - I didn't think you were bashing it, if you thought that I thought I was.

I actually had a PS 2 that a buddy gave me a few years back and enjoyed it. Honestly, when it comes to games, I am at the point where I am not going to get really up tight one way or the other as long as it's done well....PC, XBox, PS....might explore the Steam box when it comes out...I'm a geek and if I had the cash I'd have them all, honestly.

I am used to the XBox controller and the XBox environment and my daughters want to stay with XBox. If they said lets try PS4, I'd go that way, probably...as lone as Dad gets cool new games at Christmas! heh heh...

Krellin, the thing I adore about Marvel Heroes is that you don't actually have to buy anything. You can find all the characters in game or you can choose to take the easy way and buy the ones you like. My favorite on there is either Spiderman or Black Panther. Haven't tried Squirrel Girl yet. I know Mr. CF liked Rocket Raccoon, Ms. Marvel and Storm maybe.

Mine is coming tomorrow. Amazon had a few of them available last night at 12:01am and I was lucky enough to get one. I'll probably start with COD Ghosts and then get Assassin's Creed soon. Target has buy 2 get 1 free but honestly I didn't see 3 appealing games that weren't in the same genre.

It plays like Diablo 2 though, but the story line is top notch.

I was into EVE for awhile and loved it. It got to the point though where I felt like it was a second job I had to pay for so I forced myself to quit. I still follow it though. It's an amazing game and there's nothing else quite like it.
