Outsourced to America
Hey guys, just wanted to share with you a small personal triumph. For years some Americans were worried that their job would be outsourced to China. But a couple of months ago I recently took on my first Chinese client, which means that the Chinese have started outsourcing things to America.

Sugar Daddies
As I'm a gay, I always try to find a best partner for mine. I have tried so many sites those provide arrangements for us. GayArrangement.com is one of these sites. I find this site very helpful for me. So, I want to see all of the best sugar daddies in this site, because you can find me there waiting for you.

Please Keep DC35 Banned
As someone who plays on the school wifi with him I know that he has been making multiple accounts and playing games. I'm sorry that people at my school are retards. He is not my friend and I do not want to play with him. Although I do know people in my school that have been unrightfully banned DC35 is not one of them.

I agree you shouldn't punish the general population of this school for someone who shows great ignorance. We are a school that enjoys our web diplomacy and I am greatly sorry. I am new to this but am excited to learn as long as this ip doesn't get banned I can learn to enjoy this game.

Yeah, Banning the school IP would ruin all of our experiences because one guy decided to cheat. As to the people criticizing students for playing with there friends at school. There is no reason one shouldn't be allowed to play Diplomacy Online with their friends. As long as no one is cheating, I don't see why we shouldn't. It's fun, we may not have the money to buy diplomacy, and we are also spreading the popularity of the game in our school.
jmo1121109 (3812 D)

You guys are more then welcome to play in private games together. The issue is when classmates are playing together in games when they are clearly making alliances off the site or playing unfairly.

In the future send any issues to [email protected] and please ask your classmates to read our site rules to avoid further issues.
krellin (80 DX)

You are more than capable of playing diplomacy online -- as soon as you hop off the bus and get home.

I'm not sure why you all are under the impression that banning a school's ip is kicking you off of webdip?
steephie22 (182 D(S))
15 Nov 13 UTC
"and we are also spreading the popularity of the game in our school."
... Great...

Anyway, just remember that you're entering a grey area when you join a game involving several people of your school as well as other people who aren't aware of this.
daniyhungre (100 D)
15 Nov 13 UTC
jmo I agree 100%. All of the games I play with friends are private but I do play public games without friends and I just wanted to clear things up so that the whole school is not labeled as cheaters.

JMO - "The issue is when classmates are playing together in games when they are clearly making alliances off the site or playing unfairly."

Please do not make cheating allegations in the forums, contact a mod.

This is easy to solve IMHO - just change all the schools usernames to ABCHighSchool and add three initials to identify each player. Then can then play with one another until their little hearts are content.

Krellin - what kids do at school is really no of our concern as long as it isn't illegal. The school should be quite capable of restricting phone/computer use or restricting certain sites if its a problem for them.

Maniac I think that's a brilliant suggestion. Users from big schools or whatever could have badges next to their name, so we can know if they're likely to work together.

Not saying the snidely - you guys should also maybe consider looking at playdiplomacy.com.

It's a much larger site and may be better suited to deal with the difficulties you're finding here.
Playdiplomacy will ban them. They banned everyone from my college class that made accounts for an assignment.

There's actually this other really innovative platform for playing Diplomacy with people you know in real life and see on a daily basis. Basically, what they did is take the map and create a portable, proximity-reliant version of it. It has a three-dimensional, fully manipulable army placement interface called "hands". They've also devised this really intuitive method for logging orders called "paper". And the graphics are totally realistic. It's almost like you're actually right there.

It's called a "board" game. You guys should check it out.

I appreciate hearing from other students at the school. Obviously, you're not all idiots, but its a fact of life that you should probably get used to that a few individuals can often give a bad reputation to the rest. Its like lawyers - the 99% of the bad ones give the 1% of good ones a bad name.
There's a simple solution. Some of you are non-offenders who enjoy legitimate use of this free, private site. One or more people you know in real life is screwing things up for everyone, and may get your IP school address blocked. Deal with it in real life, instead of expecting strangers to volunteer their own time to sort it out for you. You know DC35. Handle it with him directly.

SYnapse - the Bully *IS DC35*...Dealing with it in real life means confronting him to make him stop bullying the kids who are now being punished for his actions.

Hanged Man is advocating that they put a stop to the known bullies!

What don't you understand about that?
krellin (80 DX)

Synapse...I believe you ahe children -- so when they do something wrong (disobey, lie, steal cookies, etc) do you punish them? Do you do anything to correct their wrong behavior? Or do you consider that "bullying"?

Seriously...what is wrong with the liberal mentality that suddenly anyone confronting anyone else is "bullying". Give it a rest already.

Did I say bullying? The other students can talk to him. They can use means within their school, such as faculty advisors or ombudsmen. They also can beat the shit out of him, but I'm not advocating that. i'm just saying they have an opportunity to handle their problem directly, because the offender is right there before them. It's not like the offender is some anonymous internet person. IMO, that's a superior course than whining on forum.

I would be more than willong to change my name to XYhighschool123. I really like maniacs suggestion. I don't actually know him, but for others, if a plan like this is implemented, we could report the ones who don't change their names. I am sorry for all the trouble my classmates have caused on this website, but I was no part of it. That being said, I would understand if you banned us all, frankly. We cause a lot of trouble, and don't contribute much to the community. I would be willing to pm a moderator if they wanted to take some of their time to figure this whole mess out, but if you don't want to do that I understand.

Have there been any examples of cheating so far? I haven't participated in any, but I couldn't since I'm not in public games with people at my school. Also, there seems to be a fair bit of talking about our age on here, and while I can tell you that most of us are mature and willing to work with the moderators to make this website a better place for everyone, there ARE a disproportionate amount of less mature people, cheaters too, at our school. If there is a problem, or if you would like to take the course of only banning offenders, rather than our whole school, please contact us or do it in a way that is transparent. If age is a concern, you could always contact CoachWalters (that's his name on here). Thanks for being g active, responsive moderators! It always feels good to know I'm in an environment that doesn't tolerate cheating in the slightest.

We would be able to sort this all out, or come to a conclusion that at least satisfies the community, if not our school, if we all cooperate and stop chiming in with "unban me plox" or "just play when you get home from school, kids." Please keep this discussion on point- and we are mainly talking about the issue of people at our school cheating. I would love to hear from the moderators, but I get that they may be busy, or feel that our whole school just needs banned. As always, good luck out there! -Epsilultra

By my count, there are 83 users associated with the school's IP, not including DC37 and UnbanDC37. Not exactly a small number, but those 83 have caused the mods a disproportionate amount of grief and work compared to the rest of the users.

Wow, assuming they're all active players, 1 in 20 people on this site are from that one school, lol

I'm not surprised that they would be a hassle, from my experience (on vdip) school groups are the hardest to moderate, and we've never had one thats anywhere near that in size.

Fasces349, most of them are active, though this only caught on on recent weeks, so I don't know how long this will last. I predict about ~30 active users long term from our school.

I'm from the school, and first of all I want to thank everyone for providing such a nice experience for us all (the game is spreading like wildfire here). We're aware of the problems we're causing (and I'll apologize on behalf of everone). We're educating ourselves with the rules and we'll be more cautious. Let's not even go into the topic of the people who were wrongfully banned at our school.

In vDiplomacy, one of the variants that caught my eye was the Sengoku variant.

Would it be possible to import this into webDiplomacy?
If not, what is the basis for importing new variants, such as, more recently, the Modern Diplomacy variant?
