Some of them know each other, but mostly through me. And they are currently in one 7-day press game together (see my profile if you're really keen). This is why I'm being upfront about it. And they know (and have been re-instructed by me) that they're not allowed to talk one bit about a gunboat game.

With these players, I'm not at all concerned about meta-gaming, I will vouch for them any day. Enough to stake my reputation on the forum to which I've grown attached. I'm much more worried that I got the 'staunch opposition' I asked for.... *gulp*

Of course, if any of the above means Partysane or Fairfax want out, I can fully understand.

And by the way tMoW, you should be a better friend. Allowing new people to get in a 7 day press game? WTF? I would kill myself unless it was of the highest caliber. A bunch of newbies sitting around saying "Yeah, I guess it is cool for Germany to move into the North Sea" over and over again would be...unbearable.

@jimgov: they're not newbs, just new to the site. Some of them have been playing for years, just not here. We've done 7 days to get into the flow easy, agreeing to ready up if we're done. In practice, the tempo between players diverges, with some wanting more action, and some needing more time. Hence the demand for an extra game.

Of course, I sincerely hope an extra game will be the start of another, and another, and a longer stay here on site.
