For the notebooks, I'd recommend the cheapest pocket notebooks you can find. The ones with the spiral on the top.

I'm not sure how I feel about sticky threads, especially with only one forum. I guess it would be good for official mod statements, but if we had more than 1 or 2 sticky threads, it would get really hard to use the Forum.

Yeah, so only the mods could make them sticky and the mods could unsticky one at their desire as well. If it were a mod function, where would the problem be?

Well, it seems unfair that this thread, for instance, would be sticky just because it's being run by the site admins. There are plenty of tournaments and I certainly wouldn't want to sticky any of those.

I dunno about the cincy board gamers, draug. It's more of a 'meet people from webdip', so if they want to get into it, have them log into the site. I don't want a bunch of random strangers mixed in with the 'random people I've met on the internet' group.

At the Boston F2F, we had about Boston players come play with us. It was nice for two reasons:
1) We needed the extra people
2) Alex (TD for Boston Massacre) was a great help, giving pointers about the tournament and was willing (and capable) to play 2 boards at once on Saturday, so that we could have quality games.

It will depend a lot, of course, on how many people actually are interested this year. If we have 4 boards, it's not a big issue, but a lot of F2Fers are happy to help new players out.

Why not sticky the other torunaments when they are being organized? Just say you allow 4 sticky threads at once. If the mods want to bump one up, another has to come off?

Honestly, fortknox, I have no d\problem with that decision one way or the other, but I'd rather bearnstien not be invited. He has never apologized for his actions and is still banned from the site, IIRC. So how is that representative of people form webdip? If strangers form outside aren't welcome, how can we welcome a blatant and unrepentant cheat?

It's months away, DJEcc. Take some vacation. And it's on a weekend, so unless you work something that has you working weekends, you need not take any time off for travel.

Again; depending where you fly from, flights to Cleveland are pretty inexpensive (via SouthWest or Continental... I mean United (ugh)). I can pick people up at Hopkins on the way and carpool south to Cincy. That may ease some of the cost. I just need a couple week's notice for planning purposes/timing.

I was bummed I missed Boston and it sounded like a great time. I'm looking forward to this.

I think a few might be coming from Columbus and or Indy and both of them have reasonable flights as well. Don't fly into Cinci on Delta though. Incoming might not be bad, but the return trip costs an arm and a leg.
