getting back in to Combat Mission
haven't played for a long time since I'm on a Mac and the classic CM games don't work anymore. I'm excited to see Battlefront has come out with new WWII CM. But they're a bit pricy. Not sure if I should get Normandy or Fortress Italy? Anyone play these games?

Alacriousness
Problem of politicians regarding Syria: the alacrity to do something. If Cameron and co just hold their breaths for a second, wait for what the UN has to say, wait for what other nations have to say, they'll get their mandate. There's simply no rush.

In a perfect (i.e. Sbyvl-dominated) world, the economic system would be much better than it is today. Here are my five steps to fix the socialist playpen that we call America:

If you insist on spewing your insane shit, don't be surprised if you're called on it.

Also, considering how fucking delusional your authoritarian mindset is, its deliciously ironic you're annoyed by somebody saying the same thing over and over again.

Here, I'll demonstrate something.

Lawyers are trained in litigation. i.e. constructing an argument for a court. You'd think that after 3 years of school with the Socratic method, you'd be pretty good at constructing one.

But so far, your basic argument is "I'm right, all evidence to the contrary is wrong, but I'm not going to prove that. You're just wrong"

I'm sure that would play well for a judge and/or jury. You must be a FANTASTIC lawyer.

Also sarcasm there at the end. I personally think you're just a shitty liar.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)

What Klein is really saying:

"I don't understand your position at all, so I'm just going to slander you until everyone ignores you".

Jack_Klein (897 D)

Go ahead, ignore my points.

You're only proving to anybody who wants to waste their time reading this shitshow of a thread that you're a liar, delusional, and a shitty excuse for a human being.

Maybe if you addressed my argument you might actually act like the lawyer you're lying about being.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
I would hardly call Conservatism insane. Once again, you're outnumbered 2-1 in this country.

When preparing a case I go a bit deeper. And I cite the Constitution and other evidence, such as the economic situation when my policies were in place, constantly. You just choose to ignore it.
Jack_Klein (897 D)

As other conservatives have pointed out, they don't agree with you.

I understand cognitive dissonance is a condition you have.

But you're a fringe, and we haven't found a person that agrees with your reactionary, authoritarian views.

You know, except Hitler, Pinochet, Franco, etc.

Your citations of the Constitution are at odds with prevailing case law. Certainly, a sterling lawyer such as yourself is familiar with basic constitutional case law?

Again, its proving that you're a liar about a great many things.

Also, side note: Believing the earth is 7200 years old vice 6000 years is no less insane. On that count alone, you deserve to be mocked by your intellectual superiors (ie, everybody, including most grade school kids)
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
1. Your "conservatives" are either Moderates or Libertarians, and I admit that conservatives are underrepresented on this forum.

Hitler, Mussolini, and Pinochet would all despise me because I am religious and a free marketer.

As I've said before,I believe the cases you have brought up to have been botched up, and that their rulings are absolutely contrary to the Constitution.

Repeating yourself doesn't make it true.

Science changes over time. Remember, many people believed the Earth to be flat, while Scripture was the first primary source to show that it is a sphere.
Jack_Klein (897 D)

So when you cite that there are a majority of self identified conservatives as proof that you're right, and then immediately show that people who call themselves conservative are in fact not conservatives in your personal view, you demonstrate the essential poverty of your argument. You're in a tiny minority of crackpots. If you claim to be in the majority of conservatives, but the people who claim to be conservative don't pass the litmus test in your opinion, you're full of shit.

I mean, at least try to be consistently crazy.

Hitler was a godsend to German industrialists, same with Mussolini. They crushed the Communists, after all.

Pinchet: In 1973, the Chilean economy was deeply hurt for several reasons, including the expropriation of 600 businesses by the Marxist Allende government, a tiered exchange rate that distorted markets, protectionism, and the economic sanctions imposed by the Nixon administration,[39] inflation was 1000%, the country had no foreign reserves, and GDP was falling.[40] By mid-1975, the government set forth an economic policy of free-market reforms that attempted to stop inflation and collapse. Pinochet declared that he wanted "to make Chile not a nation of proletarians, but a nation of proprietors."[41] To formulate the economic rescue, the government relied on the so-called Chicago Boys and a text called El ladrillo.

Free marketer.

And you didn't even address Franco.... are you really a closeted Falangist?

It would fit with your batshit Catholicism and authoritarian tendencies.

Holy shit, sbyvl, your brain doesn't function if you think the earth is 7200 years old. Get a fucking grip on reality dude. The earth is round too btw
Thucydides (864 D(B))
31 Aug 13 UTC
When, by the way, are you going to respond the reality that literally no one here, no one, takes you seriously? When are you going to address us with the understanding that we unanimously disagree with you? Rather than pontificating to us as if that will make us take you seriously when in fact you are a bigger pariah than any I have yet seen on this site in terms of your viewpoints.

You are truly an incarnation of Poe's Law. You are a stereotype. It has been sad that krellin is not real, but I take it back. It is you who is not real. You are a persona, an invention. Your set of beliefs cannot exist sincerely in the real world. You are either insane or acting. You are not sincere.
Jack_Klein (897 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
Thucy: At least Krellin seems real. Like, he's fucked up, sure, but I think he functions in society. He's capable of acting like a mammal.

Nazi Coward here is so far out there that I'm increasingly convinced he's an elaborate troll.

Or he's a lizardman invader from Procyon V.

Either is equally likely. :P
Thucydides (864 D(B))
31 Aug 13 UTC
Sbyvl would care to address why you believe you are a one-man outcast team? What could be behind this phenomenon?

Surely it is the End Times since the pagans are so fully in control of the discourse.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
31 Aug 13 UTC
You're a relic. You should have been born 1000 years ago. No, even then you would be a relic. Even 1000 years ago they were fucking like bunnies in the woods. You're a fucking outcast. There is no society for you, no nothing. If you God is real you are obviously going to hell.

Change your beliefs, seek psychological help, or admit your charade, those are your options. Every other option is farce.

@klein: Franco is not by any means compatible with Catholicism. Salazar maybe.

"@Invictus: I have never committed that grievous sin."

Sure.

I too am having a really, really hard time buying that you are a lawyer, Sbyvl36. I'm in law school now (well, classes start Tuesday), and worked in a legal setting for the past year after I graduated undergrad. I've spent a lot of time with a lot of lawyers. Most, let's be frank, are pretty goddamn stupid. Scarily so. There are about 200 law schools in the country and we only ought to have about 50 to 60.

But none of the lawyers I've met are like you. Even the most inexperienced Cooley grad would not cling to such ridiculous positions like the Earth being only 7200 years old (not a Catholic doctrine, by the way), there being less than a dozen True Conservatives in the House, and using tariffs as the only source of government revenue. If it's true that you are an attorney, I hope you're some savant in your specialized area since from what you've been writing on the forum I can't imagine anyone ever hiring you.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
I would never want to see anyone lit on fire, even someone as terrible as you.
Celticfox (100 D(B))

Actually by the Constitution it does. Majority rule and all that. But hey, you can believe whatever you want and we'll continue to mock you for it.

"Religion now comes to us in this smiley-face ingratiating way, because it's had to give so much ground and because we know so much more. But you've no right to forget the way it behaved when it was strong, and when it really did believe that it had God on its side." -Hitchens
Invictus (240 D)

And maybe address the skepticism that you're an attorney? An easier task than trying to convert the godless over the internet, after all.
