getting back in to Combat Mission
haven't played for a long time since I'm on a Mac and the classic CM games don't work anymore. I'm excited to see Battlefront has come out with new WWII CM. But they're a bit pricy. Not sure if I should get Normandy or Fortress Italy? Anyone play these games?

Alacriousness
Problem of politicians regarding Syria: the alacrity to do something. If Cameron and co just hold their breaths for a second, wait for what the UN has to say, wait for what other nations have to say, they'll get their mandate. There's simply no rush.

Sbyvonomics
In a perfect (i.e. Sbyvl-dominated) world, the economic system would be much better than it is today. Here are my five steps to fix the socialist playpen that we call America:

Actually the bordors set it within cities that are more conservative. Maybe people here just didn't like the Tea Parties ideals. How hard is that to believe?
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
Considering that it isn't true.....
kramerkov18 (1570 D)

@mendax, the truth is I don't think we can stop it. The big thing is we are in so much debt and printing so much money (b/c of liberal and conservative spending alike) that we cannot afford to stop. With the value of the dollar going under we may lose our position as the world's reserve currency. If you doubt the possibility of this just look at the deals going on between China and Russia who are trying to move away from the US in lines of dependent trade. We won't have another great depression but it will hit the lower class hard and the middle class will take a huge hit as well. Maybe even the rich will feel a little bit of the after effect.
@Sbyvl36, they have turned the party into a group of close minded, lying, ignorant, uninformed, and down right idiotic people whose only concern is fucking Christianity and what the bible deems as "moral values." I got news for you, the bible isn't the only biblical text out there and it sure as hell wasn't the first. What makes it more right than the others, and what gives the Tea Party the right to trample all over the 1st Amendment in freedom of expression (homosexuality) and freedom of religion?

And how would you know? You don't live here. Just because your beliefs are great where you're at doesn't mean they'll sit well here.

Just a note to Kramerkov, there are normal Christians out there (like me), no need to get a bad impression because of the extremists that don't even adhere to the bible lol.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
"extremists that don't even adhere to the bible lol." I believe I've supported my argument with scripture passages. Go back a few pages and you'll find it.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
31 Aug 13 UTC
I know we don't always agree ILN but you are fair and you do listen to others when having a discussion.
kramerkov18 (1570 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
@ILN, you're right, I do not mean to make that sound like I view all Christians that way. I am Christian myself. I just can't stand this distorted view of religion to play on people's fears and desires. It is just sickening sometimes.
Celticfox (100 D(B))

Hey Sbyvl you follow the kosher laws too? Or are you going to pick and choose which OT verses you follow?
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
I had no idea that quoting Scripture was distorted. Hrm.
kramerkov18 (1570 D)

I meant *used to prey on, but I guess that works too.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)

Sodomy Laws are in NT too.

Its funny how sbyvl affiliates himself with a religion of love and peace, one that advocates forgiveness and turning the other cheek, one that believes god created man with free will, and following god is only optional. Yet he believes in *forcing* others to abide by his morals, believes in punishment, and spews out more hatred than the Muslims he *despises*. Quite a christian you are.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
idiot.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
Wrong. I never said we should force anyone. But we must keep morality. Let me ask you: Are you in favor of polygamy?
ILN (100 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
No, but i don't deny other the freedom of others to participate in it.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
31 Aug 13 UTC
Then why quote the OT and honestly your Bible means nothing to me so why should I listen to anything that comes from it?

I have nothing against polygamy as long as everyone within the relationship is consenting adults and everything is agreed upon throughout.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
So where do you draw the line?
kramerkov18 (1570 D)

"I had no idea that quoting Scripture was distorted. Hrm."
Quoting scripture for the use of your own point of view when it is meant to be subjective is distortion. The bible is a guide meant to help some people find their own way. Not follow yours.
ILN (100 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
*deny others the freedom to participate in it
Sbyvl36 (439 D)

@CF: I quoted both the Old and New Testament.

"The bible is a guide meant to help some people find their own way. Not follow yours."
Well said
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
@kramer: So now you reject Scripture because it confirms what I said. Interesting debate strategy.
kramerkov18 (1570 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
Hell, I haven't even fully read the Bible and probably won't for some time, if ever. I don't need a book to tell me how to be a good person, but for those who do read and adhere to the bible more power to you. Just let other people decide for themselves how they want to approach Christianity.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
31 Aug 13 UTC

I drew my lines. Everyone must be consenting adult and agreed to everything within their relationship(s). I don't want to know or care what other people do in their bedroom. I don't get why that matters to you so much since it's not harming you. And yes I know you think it's a sin, but are you without sin?
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
So are you a Christian or not? You seem to dodge everything I say.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
@CF: Civil authorities are in place to maintain God's laws.

So the British govt don't want to get involved in Syria but the Prime Minister does, who are we to stop him, I'll even offer to drive him to the airport. I'm sure he'll tell Assad exactly what he thinks of him.

Would F IRI - ENG cut the unwanted support move? According to my logics, yes. Or am I missing some details?

This has been tried before but I cannot find the thread. I want to start a series of 36-hour gunboat games with password. No special rules except to ready promptly when possible. PW will not be sent to those with a history of resignations. I will start the game(s) as soon as there is interest.

Ankara Crescent
I remember playing this once on webdip a while back, and thought it would be nice to try it again. If you are wondering how to play, the objective is to reach Ankara, without breaking any rules or conventions set in place by Stovald and Avalon Hill, if you need to brush up on the rules, you can go to your nearest distributor of the new updated edition ruleset
