FINALLY HOLIDAY!!
Well, I gave it all daily these last 4 weeks causing me to have a 9.2 now, and the holiday is only a week, but I've never been so happy with a holiday. Now if you'll excuse me I'll go sleep for 21 hours now, too bad I have a party then...

Also, before everyone does it, are you allowed to quote yourself or does someone else have to nominate your comment?

Put it to a vote!
The votes are clearly there, at least 24 in the count provided in the link below. the Republican leadership continues to refuse to put a clean bill to a vote.

Is there anything more anti-American than the actions of the far right who have infiltrated the GOP and seem to be pulling all of the strings, where have all the decent Republicans gone? These traitors need a good slap.....

"Is there anything more anti-American than..."

Yes there is: a Subject of Her Imperious Majesty The Queen trying to tell other people what does and does not constitute Americanism.

@Tolstoy - I am so so sorry, I guess it is times likes this when you nationalists need to stick together 'cos no one else cares more than guys like you, I realize as a real bonafide American this is a journey you're gonna have to make all by yourself with your fellow countrymen by your side, the sound of the drums in the background as you march into battle, flags waving.
Good luck, this could be your finest hour........ "USA, USA, USA (repeat until bored)

"All day and there are still no answers why this cannot be put to a vote"

I gave an answer. Boehner's trying to see if there's still a chance he can stay on as Speaker.

There will be a deal, hopefully, by the end of the day. The calendar day. I read in Politico yesterday morning that some House GOP Congressmen seemed to think November 1, when Social Security checks go out, is the real deadline, but these people don't know how bond markets work and I can't imagine Boehner would risk sparking a real financial crisis by not having something passed in time on Thursday, even if it costs him his position. I also saw a headline a few minutes ago that Ted Cruz may try and filibuster a deal that doesn't meet his approval, proving again that, while a staggeringly brilliant legal mind, he's entirely unfit for federal office.

The only Republican having a good autumn is Chris Christie. After he wins his landslide this month maybe the party will come to its senses and see what can happen when you actually attempt to govern as a conservative rather than rely on bellyfeel and quixotic, nihilistic stunts to make the basest of the base happy.

Also, @Putin33: "Why are the Dutch lecturing Americans on governance? They've been lucky if they get a government that lasts two years."

Our government lasts very long. Sometimes we don't have a coalition, big deal. We don't shut anything down. That said, I don't agree with many things in our government. Doesn't mean I can't lecture.

@Putin33: "Why are the Dutch lecturing Americans on governance? They've been lucky if they get a government that lasts two years."

What's up with the "Shut up because you're you" rejoinders here? Just because you can't vote in the U.S. (or anywhere else) doesn't mean you can't have an opinion.

Of course, they might have no idea what they're talking about, but that's a different (and more real) argument.

But most importantly, I think it's about time we call out SantaFuckowitz for ignoring everybody who gives an honest and sensible answer (well more sensible than the question so sensible enough) and then tells us we still haven't answered him, next to telling us we *have* to answer him or get called out.

Maybe that's how the democrats got their "votes": they just say 'why would you not vote for us?', and then, when you give a sensible answer, they tell you your answer doesn't count and write you down as voting for them, the same way as SantaFuckowitz now says we didn't answer him.

If that's not how it works, the democrats should be ashamed of St. Fuckowitz now because that's how he represents democrats.

I dare you St. Fuckowitz. Admit we answered you, and answer us.

Why no Republican vote on a clean bill? Less keeping his leadership, more that they are content with the shutdown. I disagree with the actions of the Republicans, but if ACA is so bad that we need to shutdown the govt then own it. Scream from the rooftops you are standing on principle, not selling that this is Obama's shutdown...
Invictus (240 D)

From my Politico alert:

"We're talking with out members on both sides of the aisle to try to find a way to move forward today" -John Boehner.

It's over but for the crying. That's code for "I'm trying to get as many Republicans as possible to vote for a clean CR and debt ceiling hike, and maybe get some minor face saving concessions from the Democrats." The Speaker has said from the beginning he won't allow default, and this is the last day you can realistically get everything done in time before the debt ceiling is hit on Thursday.
Invictus (240 D)

"our members," obviously.

"Talking with out members" sounds better. Boehner is either meeting with the gay caucus, all Republican Congressmen have their penises hanging out, or they've all been castrated.

A clean vote was put to the floor on Saturday, it was vetod by Obama because it only extended the deadline by 6 weeks, and he didn't want this problem to arise in the near future.
krellin (80 DX)

@Steephie -- Do you see the irony here that Santafuckowitz is asking for answers, and has been provided answers by *multiple* people, and ignores them all.

Is it any wonder he is just another political sheep, a lapdog of the left -- he has their exact same mentality. Democrats demand a vote...but ignore the votes they themselves are able to make. Democrats demand a clean bill...while already passing and implementing partial bills. Democrats say "law is law" and act like no law can be changed, while they demand Sequestration (which was OBAMA's law) be changed.

So to watch Santa acting like a child and refusing to acknowledge anything he doesn't like is par for the course -- he is a *perfect* example of the Democrat party/Obama/Reid...and a perfect example of why politics don't work in this country....because the left-wing actors are childish and immature; they take the ball and go home when they don't get 100% of their way, and then they blame everyone else.

It's laughable.
josunice (3702 D(S))
15 Oct 13 UTC
Krellin - you need to work for the Republic spin machine... that last post was incredible how you can put the shutdown on the Dems/Obama's lap. Republicans should own up to the shutdown. If it is righteous, than say so, but your spin: "because the left-wing actors are childish and immature; they take the ball and go home when they don't get 100% of their way, and then they blame everyone else. " is unbelievable...
josunice (3702 D(S))
15 Oct 13 UTC
It is pretty clear that the Tea Party tail that is wagging the Republican dog is the child in this analogy demanding 100% their way, and at best, the Republican party is tacitly supporting it, and at worst, they agree with the current hostage taking approach...
krellin (80 DX)
15 Oct 13 UTC
josu -- Do you have anything of value to add? All you have posted is just more political rant. At least in my posts prior to this I pointed out *factual* events to make my case. You and the rest of the Troll clowns ....yes, josu, YOU are an *incerdible* troll....you just come on and attack adn throw out the party line and ignore the actual events occurring in Washington.

What a bunch of mindless sheep you are.

Try to be a *big boy* and actually respond to the factual asssertions regarding:
1. Who's actually voted on what?
2. Who is calling for votes but refuses to vote
3. Who won't negotiate because "law is law" but is demanding changes to the law of Sequestration they/he proposed.

Come on josu -- you seem like you might have a sherdof intellect....so man up and tell me why the Democrats are not the worst kind fo hypocrites in this debacle...and why you followers are not pathetic sheep spouting the party line by continuously passing factaully INACCURATE information.

Troll....God damn...even your creating a "troll awards" thread and naming me first when you are nothing *but* a troll is par for Democrat thinking.

Try making an actual argument...or actually adressing the arguments that have been made.
krellin (80 DX)
15 Oct 13 UTC
josu -- did you see Santa's post asknig for answers, by the way? Did you read the **multiple** replies to him? And yet he still says noone will answer him. So yes, when I call him a child, and say he takes the ball and goes home when he doesn't like the answer, I mean exactly what I say -- he acts like a child. He is *very* much akin to the Democrats, who refuse to negotiate...who say idiotic things like, "We'll negotiate when you pass 100% of what we ask for...THEN we will sit at the table"....and you moronic Democrats eat that shit up like it's valid.

No....I stand 100% by my characterizations above...and if you can't comprehend why, the reason, most likely, is that you, too have the mind of a child and are, even now, sitting at home frothing at the mouth in outrage.

Man up, bitch - answer a few questions *directly* instead of just coming on and throwing bombs, Troll.
greysoni (160 D)

Its all political rant unless you side with Krellin
krellin (80 DX)
15 Oct 13 UTC
@greysoni -- another troll? Boy, you guys are coming out of the woodwork, aren't you.

It's just a political rant when you are spewing Democrat talking points and not addressing *actual* events that have taken place.

So, let's see if YOU can be a *big boy* and actually respond to the facts abuot what has taken place. Try these questions, and let's see if you are another troll, or if you want actual dialogue:

1. Who's has actually voted on what?
2. Who has blocked votes on over 126 bills?
3. Who won't negotiate changes to an existing law because "law is law" but is demanding changes to the law of Sequestration they/he proposed?

Come on, big boy...use Google if you have to...it's not cheating.

Let's see if a single Libtard around here has enough intellectual integrity to play my game honestly.
greysoni (160 D)
15 Oct 13 UTC
oh, I forgot we are all trolls when we disagree with Krellin.....left that part out.
But as to facts if I were to bring out the facts you would just call them liberal propaganda.....As for integrity....you have none.

krellin (80 DX)
15 Oct 13 UTC
@greyson - feel free.to disagree....just try to do it by supporting your arguments with *facts * instead of being a Democrat attack dog. I know, its hard to admit you are.wrong and that your heroes have lied to you...but that's part of being a Big Boy in a cruel world. Now.try.to answer my questions
Come on tough guy...you can do it!

greysoni (160 D)
15 Oct 13 UTC
I am not trying to shill for any position.... what I object to is your complete lack of civil behavior. You do not argue in good faith ....."bitch", "troll", "libtard" these are ways to win an argument when you have none... what the fuck, can't you have a discussion without sounding like an ass? If "facts" are what you care about just stick to those..
Putin33 (111 D)
15 Oct 13 UTC
""Shut up because you're you" rejoinders here?"

It's a response to the "all Americans are stupid liars" theme that Steephie has running here. I can take that talk from people from countries that actually operate well and vote responsibly, or have a reason to be aggrieved at Washington, but the Netherlands isn't one that comes to mind. Not even close.

And it's usually the same people who complain that the topics discussed here are too American-centric, yet never bring up or criticize their own country.
Jack_Klein (897 D)
15 Oct 13 UTC
Krellin, nice job ignoring the fact that the Senate has tried to go to budget conference *18* times since April, and the House has refused.

Only AFTER they shut down the government were the Republicans willing to go to conference.

Not surprisingly, nobody is willing to talk to domestic terrorists while they're trying to hold the entire country and economy hostage.

The right wing was ecstatic about the shutdown as it was happening... Representative Bachmann was "very excited" about it.

And now that things are turning, you're desperate to blame somebody else for what was essentially a Republican operation.

Don't worry, I'm pleased to report that the American people aren't as stupid as you're hoping, and can see right through your pathetic attempts to shift blame.
