getting back in to Combat Mission
haven't played for a long time since I'm on a Mac and the classic CM games don't work anymore. I'm excited to see Battlefront has come out with new WWII CM. But they're a bit pricy. Not sure if I should get Normandy or Fortress Italy? Anyone play these games?

Alacriousness
Problem of politicians regarding Syria: the alacrity to do something. If Cameron and co just hold their breaths for a second, wait for what the UN has to say, wait for what other nations have to say, they'll get their mandate. There's simply no rush.

Sbyvonomics
In a perfect (i.e. Sbyvl-dominated) world, the economic system would be much better than it is today. Here are my five steps to fix the socialist playpen that we call America:

According to this chart, I'm on the border of Capitalism/Traditionalism. I'm not anywhere near Authoritarianism. But you're a socialist.

The hilarious thing is you use that image.

Shows Fascism on the right, in its proper place.

Thanks for admitting that point for me. We had a bit of a discussion about that the other day.

You still want to imprison homosexuals because you think its icky.

Thats pretty authoritarian.

Among other things. Saying Fascism and National Socialism are diametrically opposed is almost as insane/stupid as saying Communism and Fascism are the same thing.

You're still an authoritarian piece of shit.

Thankfully, nutjobs like you are a tiny minority. How does it feel to be utterly irrelevant.

A good analogy is imagining a crazy shithouse rat scrabbling at the sides of said shithouse.

Its fairly apt.

Celticfox (100 D(B))

You may be conservative, but your opinions are a minority faction within that larger group. Hell people I thought at one point would agree with you have called you out on stuff.

Celticfox (100 D(B))
31 Aug 13 UTC
Like all of them honestly. Let's look at the conservatives on the forums and look at how many actually agree with you and the way you'd implement your ideas.
Jack_Klein (897 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
Haha. Your own testimony shows how much thats in error.

What percentage of those would you consider "RINO"s? I mean, there are a lot of Republicans you think are "liberals".

You're a fringe.

And as I've said before... please name me a conservative movement that was able to hold back the tide of progress.

I'll name a few that weren't:

The conservatives in the French Revolution (pro absolutist monarchy)
The conservatives in the American Revolution (Tories, Loyalists, etc)
The conservatives in the early 1800s Britain (anti Reform Bill, among other things)
The conservatives in the Civil War (The South, and the Copperhead Democrats)
The conservatives in Britain prior to WW1 (Unionist Party was completely blown out of the water by the Liberals and altered the consensus)
The conservatives in the 1930s (FDR and the New Deal. Despite your gnashing of teeth)
The conservatives in 1960s. (I mean, Nixon wanted to have universal health care and a negative income tax. Those positions are quite progressive even by today's standards)

So basically, you're on the wrong side of history. Even more so than the rest of the conservatives... you're trying to hold back the tide (or turn it back, in your case).

Its never worked. You're a relic of a fictional age, and the best part is, I don't have to beat you... you've already lost.
jmo1121109 (3812 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
Except that people who think they are conservative are close to liberal ideas from a few decades ago. For example, divorce used to be disgraceful and it's now a common occurrence even among the most steadfast "conservatives". Liberal ideas are becoming more and more readily accepted by society as a whole.
Jack_Klein (897 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
You want to turn the clock back almost 100 years. Good luck with that. Particularly with your well written, incisive rhetoric, you're sure to convince so many people your ideas are good.

Also in case you missed it, the entire last line was sarcasm. I find you a poorly educated authoritarian shithead, and I have nothing but pity for your shithouse rat scribblings.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
31 Aug 13 UTC
The Rinos would be in the "Moderate" category.

How about...
The Conservatives of the Medieval Era, who held sway for 1000 years.
The Conservatives of the 19th Century
The Conservatives of the 1920s
The Conservatives of the 1980s
The Conservatives of 2016.

Jack_Klein (897 D)

Conservatives of the medieval times... you really want to claim a thousand years of ignorance, filth, and warfare? Ok, fine. You still lost in the French Revolution(and have since then).

Conservatives of the 19th century... do they still exist now? Yep, they lost.

Conservatives of the 1920s... they lost to FDR.

Conservatives of the 1980s... the Dems have held the White House for what... 12 out of the last 20 years? Yep, you're losing again.

The future... yeah. Old ideas die. New ones come along.

To stand against this is to bask in your own ignorance and pretend its brilliance.

Don't worry... progress marches on if you like it or not.

Like I said... I don't have to beat you.... you're already beaten, and your flailings mean nothing.
