getting back in to Combat Mission
haven't played for a long time since I'm on a Mac and the classic CM games don't work anymore. I'm excited to see Battlefront has come out with new WWII CM. But they're a bit pricy. Not sure if I should get Normandy or Fortress Italy? Anyone play these games?

Alacriousness
Problem of politicians regarding Syria: the alacrity to do something. If Cameron and co just hold their breaths for a second, wait for what the UN has to say, wait for what other nations have to say, they'll get their mandate. There's simply no rush.

Sbyvonomics
In a perfect (i.e. Sbyvl-dominated) world, the economic system would be much better than it is today. Here are my five steps to fix the socialist playpen that we call America:

What did I suggest, Commie?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

You implied that spending and taxation aren't bad when we aren't in a recession.

Commie bastard.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
27 Aug 13 UTC
I never said that, you Lunatic Libtard Commie. Why do you misinterpret everything I say? Either you're playing dumb, or it's not an act.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
27 Aug 13 UTC
An act? You're a fucking troll. You said Hoover spent and taxed, something you should never do in a recession. That implies that you SHOULD do it when not in a recession. You said it, you're obviously a commie. Go to hell, fascist commie bastard.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
27 Aug 13 UTC
I am not a troll.
Let me make it clear, never tax and spend, ever. I was berating Hoover's idiocy. Are we clear, or are you going to go on about insignificant details?

Sbyvl36 said: "Honestly, I am not very interested in theories, but instead what has worked in the past."

I don't think you can tell "what has worked in the past" unless you have some understanding of the basic theories of economics.

The period following the Civil War until around 1900, often referred to as the Guilded Age was indeed a period of high economic growth for the United States. It is true that at this time the main form of taxation was import duties. But correlation does not necessarily imply causation. There were many reasons for America's growth during this period, but the taxation system and the presence of tariffs would rank lowly as a contributing factor (if indeed they could even be considered contributing factors).

Much more important was the enormous of immigration - over 10 million people during this age. The massive reserves of untapped resources, and the industrial revolution, as well as innovations in the banking industry. America grew a lot, but it was starting from a low base (much like China from the 1980s onwards). Tariffs had very little to do with it.

What, you mean fascist communists can't exist all of a sudden? You've really changed your mind on that.
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
27 Aug 13 UTC
No I haven't. Fascism is a branch of Socialism, and both Socialism and Communism are a form of Marxism.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
27 Aug 13 UTC
So then the Socialist party can, by your own logic, be fascist. So you're a fascist since you're Nazi swine, and you're a communist.

This is your own logic, not mine :)

"So then the Socialist party can, by your own logic, be fascist." Yes.

"So you're a fascist since you're Nazi swine, and you're a communist."

"You are probably the most stupid individual on this forum."

In order to disprove this, just see threadID=1043432.

Nazi commie.
nazism is not a form of socialism - don't be more stupid than usual. nazis hate communists and socialists. north korea has democratic and republic in its name, doesn't mean it's a democratic republic. retard.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
27 Aug 13 UTC
What, you mean North Korea isn't the freest country on the planet?!
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
27 Aug 13 UTC
National Socialism, you retard.

Under that logic, the Conservative party isn't Conservative, and the Labor party isn't pro-labor.
north korea is as free as the nazis are communist/socialist. luckily i think you (bo) already know that, but really you're better than feeding someone like sbyvl so much!
Sbyvl36 (439 D)
27 Aug 13 UTC
Nazis are Socialist.

"Contrary to what most people think, the Nazis were ardent socialists (hence the term “National socialism”). They believed in free health care and guaranteed jobs. They confiscated inherited wealth and spent vast sums on public education. They purged the church from public policy, promoted a new form of pagan spirituality, and inserted the authority of the state into every nook and cranny of daily life. The Nazis declared war on smoking, supported abortion, euthanasia, and gun control. They loathed the free market, provided generous pensions for the elderly, and maintained a strict racial quota system in their universities—where campus speech codes were all the rage. The Nazis led the world in organic farming and alternative medicine. Hitler was a strict vegetarian, and Himmler was an animal rights activist."
sbyvl you're an idiot. i didn't say if you have something in the name you are not that. so you can be a conservative party and have conservative in the title. but having conservative in the title does not in itself make you conservative! and i know it's called national socialism, but they weren't socialist, and hitler intentionally purged the most socialist aspects of it. god i assume you're a troll, but god you are so stupid it is actually frustrating.

I remember playing this once on webdip a while back, and thought it would be nice to try it again.
