The Great Debate: Mujus, Crazy Anglican, Nigee, semck, SC vs. My Fellow Atheists?
It seems as if we have a new wave of vocal and talented Christian thinkers, who certainly seem as willing as I to type on the matter, albeit from the other end--so, care to debate, say, 2-4 Christians vs. the same # of Atheists, on a thread w/ a neutral moderator, we each give an opening statement in succession (say, 500-1000 words or less), one rebuttal per person, and then open it up for questions, side with the most +1s for their comments "wins?"

Sexist Pig, Re-Heated Family Guy Leftovers, or Fresh New Take--McFarlane as Oscars Host?
http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/closeread/2013/02/seth-macfarlane-and-the-oscars-hostile-ugly-sexist-night.html So the reviews for the Aesthete Super Bowl known as the Oscars are in...and pretty much it's an even split, some loving the job Seth McFarlane did and others, like Ms. Davidson here, finding his turn as Oscar host incredibly offensive...and "misogynistic" seems to be the chief complaint against him--agree with that, disagree...your take?

Potential Multi Issue
I'm new to website after playing a few IRL games, and my housemate who also works at the same place as me is probably thinking about joining. However, I know there are issues relating to people using multiple accounts, and if that's done by IP address is will most likely look like both our accounts are the same person's.
What's the best way for us to avoid this, or who should I contact to discuss it further?
Thanks!

For the easy payment of 15 D, you can enjoy the chance to rule the world with The World Wide Schlieffen Plan ( http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=111246 ) . If you can take 10 minutes out of you day for possible world domination, than this deal is for you. In fact this deal is just to good. I'm gonna have to put a time limit of 7 days for this. A man and a woman are different, biologically, mentally, spiritually, everything.

They should complement each other, not try to be the same. For instance, when I get home from work to my beautiful wife (she's the most beautiful woman in the world. Did I mention her beauty? I love how beautiful she is) makes me dinner with money I earned for us.

And don't get me started on poles and holes boy I tell you what that's natural if there ever was natural. This country will pay for its sins.

There's a reason it says right in the CONSTITUTION

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all __MEN__ are CREATED equal [but the lazy one's deserve what they git], that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalianable rights. That among these rights are life, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of happiness."

Read em and weep.

I actually agree with krellin, that the world is moving towards the equivocation of gender. Anyone in high school will tell you that. But, the fact is that it's basically unstoppable. Children are taught at a young age that promiscuity is both attractive and normal, so they naturally grow up to be as sexually devious as they can be. And since when you compare the conservative and liberal agendas next to each other in the mind of a child, the liberal one will win out. Children assume that what 'feels right' is right. If you disagree, you should have attended prom at my school last year. (And I live in the suburbs. I hear it's far worse in inner-city schools.)

Regardless, the moment parents ease control over their children, they all run around like their inexperienced idiot peers. And since in modern youth culture, it is acceptable to be and to support LGBT (don't argue with me on this point unless you're younger than me), it only seems normal for kids to explore their sexuality as early as possible. And once that happens, the barrier between gender becomes blurred. Krellin has a valid reason to be up in flames, but I'll tell you again that the whole thing is just an inevitable product of a free society (I also hear it's worse in Europe as well).

krellin, a year ago, I'd have supported what you're saying, but if the world turns to crap, you just got to get more cynical. You don't have to support it, but your words are not appreciated and not even heard today. If it came to a vote, I'm pretty sure there would be a consensus that your views have no place in society. But if you're still mad, just go write a manifesto about how much you hate the direction the world is turning. You can try and stop it, but the world will just turn without you.

"Children are taught at a young age that promiscuity is both attractive and normal, so they naturally grow up to be as sexually devious as they can be."

This seems to be a contradiction in terms. Are children taught to be promiscuous, or are they that way naturally?

"the moment parents ease control over their children, they all run around like their inexperienced idiot peers"

The clear solution is to stop controlling our children. Teach children self-control, teach them that they are powerful, and show them love the whole way, and you won't have to control your children.

@ Thucy - just wondering, are you married? Dated much? Are your parents still married or cohabiting (if they ever were)? Do you have kids? Have you ever coached boys and girls in the same sport? Just trying to get a feel for if you have any real-life experience with gender or if it's all ivory tower theory to you.

I don't know what madness has struck Thucy, but I must point out two things to him:

First, that quote isn't from the Constitution. It is from the Declaration of Independence. Please get your documents right in the future.

Second, all men are created equal. We all.come.out of our mothers naked and hungry and crying. Pretty equal. What we do from there is up to us. By the time we reach adulthood, we are no longer equal because some.of us worked hard and some.of us were lazy ass gits.
yes because thats all that goes into "equality" Draug you twit. You are either lazy or not.
dubmdell (556 D)
23 Feb 13 UTC
Draugnar, what we do from birth is not entirely up to us. Don't delude yourself with that myth. Our parents and circumstance directly shape our present for at least a decade, for many people, two decades. There are exceptions. I acknowledge that. There's a reason they're called "exceptions;" due to their deviance from the norm, we give this title. I expect you were speaking very generally, but I do want to know if you honestly believe what you wrote or if you believe something more nuanced like I suggest.
ghug (5068 D(B))
23 Feb 13 UTC
And Draug once again again demonstrates his complete disconnect from the people outside of his class, and while making a particularly absurd claim about equality, no less.
Draug doesn't really believe this shit, he just gets his idiot bravado from time to time and turns into Krellin lite (all the stupidity a fraction of the racial slurs)
Draugnar (0 DX)
23 Feb 13 UTC
LOL! Santa has me.figured out! I was trolling the Thucy troll and grabbed several others in the net!

Now the quote is from.the D of I not the Constitution. And all men.should.have equal rights and.equal access (and I will admit they don't or we would see more men.of.color in the top echelons of.business amd.politics, not.just one half breed as president).

"rainbow of differences between everyone..." Sure there is...and the rainbow being a rather limited scope of the entire electro-magnetic spectrum, this means humanity is in fact more consistent than it is diverse...and girls *tend* to fall into a particular set of shades, and boys *tend* to fall in another (overlapping) set of shades...but on average are different.

Nobody is suggesting that everyone is the same, or even that all boys or all girls are the same...but to deny that there are certain *tendencies* is stupid.

For example, human tend to *not* eat their babies...thus, if a human wants to eat their babies, we frown upon this. An extreme example, but an example none the less. Like it or not, humans are creatures of habit, and in order to get along in a *society* we like to see people fit within norms. Baby-eating, not normal, frowned upon. Other behaviors are less obvious, but when my male or female child starts expressing gender-type behavior, that is not a bad thing -- it is a normal thing, but SOME around here would actually seek to destroy that natural tendency and seek gender-nuetrality for all.
loowkey (132 D)

Sure, there will always be genetic AND societal differences between women. However, the women within the UK and the USA complaining about women's rights within their country really don't know what they are talking about when put in comparsion with countries like India and Saudi Arabia.

Michelle Obama presents Best Picture Award
Cult of personality much? Can the Obamas refrain from inserting themselves into every damn corner of American life? Who thought this was a good idea--among both the White House staff and the Oscars producers? Can we leave politics out of anything? Why were military personnel used as props in a banal entertainment industry awards program?

Seriously, how is this not creepy and inappropriate?
