"As I said, he doesn't need one iconic moment since he played well every game. All his moments are golden, he doesn't need just one."
Easy way out when you can't give me a truly memorable moment...
Montana was just about always golden as well, and somehow, we remember HIS big moments...The Catch...the 80+ YD Drive and pass the John Taylor with 33 seconds left to win SB XXIII...5 TDs in SB XXIV, showing up the OTHER contender for best QB ever, John Elway (again, Montana faced better QBs--Elway, Marino, Kenny Anderson, Boomer Esiason...Brady faced Kurt Warner...but then Jake Delhomme and Donovan McNabb? And he LOST to a future HOFer, Eli, so, in terms of face-to-face matchups, Montana's the QB King...in terms of winning on the road, king...not getting intercepted--that wasn't gronk's fault, it was a pass that ran out of steam, bad throw, and what's more, Brady's been intercepted OTHER times in the SB, he's still not Montana-clutch-accurate, 11 TDs/0INTs/128 QB rating.)
"300 TDs and a 96 pass rating, I would rather those. On top of that Montana has 139 interceptions to Brady's 115. Again Brady has better stats."
Brady's also passed more, and has played in an all-pass era.
Also--again, 4-and-0 in SBs is the best stat you cna have...I'm sure Brady would trade those lovely 20+ extra regular season TDs he has more than Montana for 4-and-0...
After all, we're talking about winning when it MATTERED.
Dan Marino, Brett Favre, and Peyton are the best statistical QBs of all time in the regular season, putting up huge numbers:
SB record between them: 2-and-3.
It's the SB that matters.
Give as many stats that you want...
19 consecutive playoff road wins...Montana refused to lose on the road when it mattered (again, next closest--Eli with 10, so he has to go AT LEAST 3 seasons STRAIGHT winning all his games on the ROAD to have a SHOT at topping Montana.)
11 TDs, 0 INTs, 3 SB MVPS, 128 QB rating, and 4-and-0 in the SB.
When it comes to crunch-time, Montana (and Elway) are King...
And with 4-and-0 as his record, Elway's a strong #2, and Brady #3, but Montana is STILL #1.
