If you had one nuke, where would you let it off?

For the sake of this "game," you cannot give the same location as someone else, and for the sake of argument, the nuke is about as powerful as the Tsar nuke.

A modern variant idea
Having played Dip in person for quite a while along with several variants of it, I have often wondered why a variant has never made the game more 'modern' while maintaining the richness of simplicity.

Enemy in a Thread....Enemy in a GAME????
Recently learned that someone that I frequently disagree with in forum threads...you might even call him an "enemy" in the threads....took over a position in a game I was in. At first, per the normal course of Diplomacy...I tried to coordinate with him....and yet his moves were specific and aggressive....

Plumbing...
Of all home repairs, plumbing is the task that I despise *the most*. Water will always seek the easiest...and most annoying....path. I have ripped out carpet and laid down flooring, done electrical, painted, wall-papered, done gas lines....but off everything I do, **plumbing** is my nemesis. For any plumbing project, it is *three* trips, guaranteed, to the Home Despot..

What is YOUR least favorite home chore/repair?

A scenario that I'm unsure of - need explanation of results
If during spring I move an army into an SC province and then in autumn I move said army into another SC province but get bumped back from that second province, retreating back to the first SC province, would I still gain ownership of said first province even though I retreated back to it or would I, in that case, not have ownership of either SC province? Thanks for your input.

"Also, having sex doesn't make you a man."

True, paying your social security does. However, not having sex by a certain age that is deemed appropriate for it in a given culture makes you a fucktard. For you see, fucktard was first used in some Parisian banlieue by a guy well-versed in all facets of English to mock them parkour homeboys who didn't get laid by the age of 13. It has since then spread to this forum as a mostly content-free insult but the fact is that a fucktard is someone who is late to fuck - an overripen virgin, a nuts challenged fella, Atom Foltz.

@smiley, abge : I believe the reason originates from the biological fact that men are far more willing to have sex than women.
The result of this is, its very easy for a 14 year old girl for find a guy willing to sleep with her, while its very hard for a 14 year old guy to find a girl willing to sleep with him. Thus a guy who manages that has done something very difficult, hence the title of stud. A girl who gets laid hasn't done anything difficult, hence she is not positively respected for it, though disrespecting her is still unjustified and sad.

I don't disagree, sadly. But the question is this: Why does that matter one iota? I don't give a damn about the evolutionary reasons. Evolutionarily, it made sense for you to try to kill a rival mate. *That doesn't make it right.*

@goldfinger: I used to do the same with my ex. I tremendously regret it now that I've grown up, though. I never meant any of it, of course, but it's "jokes" like that that perpetuate the culture we live in.

I'm going to make a number of assumptions in this post. But bear with me here.

First assumption: You (King Atom) live in the USA
Second assumption: You are 14 (As you seem to have implied)

I strongly suggest that you look up the age of consent laws in your state. The legal age of consent is 16 or higher in every state and only some of them have age gap provisions.

If you state doesn't have age gap provisions then your getting 'laid' actually qualifies as statutory rape, though who could be charged, you of the lass depends on a number of factors including how old she is.

Cheery thought huh.

Maybe you've already done so but I'd recommend looking for the age of consent laws in your state. (Or country.)

I may not be too fond of your attitude, or your life choice.
But good luck.

Wait a minute, you had sex and you're 14.... and you're bragging about it?
I really hope your parents have a keylog on your computer.
ulytau (541 D)
13 Aug 11 UTC
Only people who care for the age of consent are those who are above it. Show me someone who delayed first intercourse because of the fear of commiting crime. I don't know anyone of this kind while I know those of the other, unlawful kind. These laws are useful against sick fucks, molesters and other grown-up shit, that's why the bar should be pretty high to offer protection against them. But kids who want to do it to each other? They'll do it anyway, they did in times when the punishment was much more severe for stuff like pre-marital sex so why should they stop now?

"Wow, you all are dumb. Of course I didn't have sex, I'm seriously wondering how you guys ever spot trolling. "

Dumb, sure you can label us that if you want, because we had the decency to afford you enough respect not to just assume you are lying.

Not one of use has the misfortune of knowing you in real life, and lying to strangers is the easiest thing in the world. So your welcome to feel clever for having 'fooled' people but it really isn't much of an accomplishment.

Example:
I could tell you that I hate cats, but my girlfriend adores them and she brought one home yesterday from the pet store.

Fact or Fiction?

Either you believe me or you don't because the premise of the story isn't something that is very far out there. A normal person, even online isn't going to question my motives and assume I'm lying.

We're lucky enough to have a community of supportive people who don't just jump in with doubts like: like you could have a girlfriend!

or in your case: Like anyone would sleep with you!

So good for you you lied on the internet about yourself. BIG accomplishment there. *eye roll*

ulytau (541 D)
13 Aug 11 UTC
You would be trolling if anyone actually cared about you having sex, thought it was a polarising issue and tried to argue with you over it. That isn't really happening here.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

I'd just like to point out that most super-uber-wunderkind math prodigies, King Atom...

Are generally smarter than to troll forums...
Are generally smarter than to troll forums about having sex...
Are generally smarter than to troll forums about having sex and LIE...

Knowing ALL of this wil one day be available for reference for a potential boss or hiring agency.

Just saying, is all.
ulytau (541 D)
13 Aug 11 UTC
However, super-uber-wunderkind (I like your use of German, the Austrian heritage is apparent) math prodigies might earn enough money to bribe kestas into moving to yet another hosting and miracuously lose all forum history in the process. Alternatively, their skills might be so valuable that noone will care about such minor deficiencies like lying on this forum. Former hackers work for IT companies and their former internet footprint is of little concern as well, and they sure did worse stuff than lying about snoo snoo at the age of 14.
Mafialligator (239 D)
13 Aug 11 UTC
The only real, consistent trick to telling if someone is lying is in reading "microexpressions" which are short flashes of actual emotion that people cannot help but show when they tell a lie. They're virtually impossible to read for anyone without extensive training in detecting them, and even then its easy to miss them, and naturally you can only see them face to face or in video recordings.

@obi: Sadly, I think he's doing it because he has the twisted notion that trolling effectively would reinforce his delusions that he is smart. That and he seems to crave attention despite the negative reaction. Perhaps his poor social skills has led to lack of meaningful attention and failed real world interactions, so he comes to seek it out on the Internet however he can.
King Atom (100 D)
14 Aug 11 UTC
My guess is that he does it because he has a perfect life outside of the internet: hot girlfriend, great education, numerous friends and worshippers. Perhaps he gets straight A's and writes novels. Maybe he's even a highly talented musician and a great singer, but you know...who the hell am I to judge?
King Atom (100 D)

King Atom (100 D)
14 Aug 11 UTC
Well, I know that you're only asking this because you all have my attention right now, but all I can say is that I'm surrounded by idiots all day. Constantly seeking stimulating conversation becomes a chore, so I am left to contemplate things on my own. And aside from the fact that I know very little about any of you and how intelligent you are, I am forced into consenting the following. Watching fools sitting in their own world, just as the dot of no dimension does in Flatlands, can be entertaining to some degree. Letting them sit there and treat what they think they know as the whole truth lets me understand how God feels sometimes. The only difference being, that I am not a para-dimensional being who is all powerful and all knowing that cares about those little singularities. No, I do not care about you singularities and I will continue to dream on. And to answer your question, it really doesn't matter, as long as I can sit back and know that I can crush them in an instant.
