Player/student/stand-in commentator is cool with me.

I'm very interested in being a student.

I've just started playing and I love it! The stategy board play mixed with the diplomacy is great. I do pretty well with the diplomacy so far but the board movements are live and learn for me. I keep messing up oppurtunities because of ignorance. The oppurtunity to play with people who know the ins and outs of the game would be great. I have no problems with regular play and will try my best to drain every drop of knowledge from the professors minds that I can.

I would like to watch and comment, but I don't want to commit to play. I gather that I should *not* sign up as a student (and I wouldn't qualify as a professor) but should just keep an eye out for the game to start?

I would love to be a "student" either watching or playing.
Some countries are completely baffling to me as to how to play well an I'd like to learn how to be a more well-rounded player.

looks like we have enough professors for two games. i'll sort through the students transcripts and see what we can do. i think two games is plenty for right now -and the more commentary, the merrier.

Hey dj, if you need another player, I'm happy to fill in. Otherwise, I'm just as happy to sit on the sidelines and fill up the message boards.

i do have a few CD's before the update to 0.9, but those are from people not pausing. as long as i am able to get online, i will never go into CD.

Just for the sake of argument here, is more commenting the merrier? I mean some players might not (but they should obviously) not read everything comprehensively. So whats the point of setting a ghost rating floor for tenured professors if just any old hooligan can commentate. I mean, there is such thing as bad advice, right?

I think Centurian has a point - it works better if there are 2 or 3 (max) commentators on any given game (I think). Currently we have 4/5 for 2 games - that feels about right. There is only so much analysis to be done of most turns

Commentating is best left to two people of extraordinarily high rank. I wouldn't be interesting in adding commentary if there's more than one other commentator.
