Search System
I suggest that Kestas can implement a searching system in phpDiplomacy, enabling us to search for players' names and game names, instead of using CTRL+F blindly everytime, hoping that you'll get the name you want in that page.

What do you guys think?

How long does it take to own a SC
How long must your army/fleet occupy a SC for it to be yours before you can leave it and it still be yours. I think it's one turn but not sure.

That's it, Sicarius!
Kestas, I apologize in advance for this thread. But I think that the phpDiplomacy can spare one Forum slot for the sole purpose of shutting Sicarius up, once and for all. See below.

Draugnar, so it's plain and clear, I find Barack Obama too conservative. Unfortunately, the Conservatives do not know what this means to me, and I get accused of all sorts of fear driven nonsense with which their party has indoctrinated them.
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
The UK conservative party is about the same as the US Democrats.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
You say that Ghost, but the UK Labour party is almost as right nowadays!
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Nope, I'm clean and clear. Silly Nebraskan politics have no mark on me. Thank you Diplomat, thank you. I'm a new man!
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Yeah, we've done a good job dragging everybody through our dirt. But it'll come back to us, and that's what REALLY scares me.
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
figle, I didn't even mention the Labour party!
diplomat1824 (0 DX)

Okay, it's pretty obvious that Sicarius has chosen to ignore this thread. So, I now will challenge anyone with political views different from mine to argue with me.
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Na... I like a challenge.
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
It's just that you're not very good at this kind of thing.
Onar (131 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
How about an open challenge to defend his views? That should be challenging enough.
Invictus (240 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
That means you challenge everyone to argue with you. No one has the exact same views on anything as another person does.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
22 Feb 09 UTC
dip,

We've played this game before. You challenge everyone to a political debate and when people try to have a rational argument, you either don't respond or completely misunderstand their post and go on some crazy rant.

Give it a rest.
Draugnar (0 DX)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Everytime I start reading diplofool's posts I can feel my brain cell's dying and my IQ dropping... I'm reminded of a song by the Beatles: The (Diplo)Fool on the Hill.
Draugnar (0 DX)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Day after day,
Alone on a hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him,
They can see that he's Diplofool,
And he never gives an answer,

Diplofool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning 'round.
Draugnar (0 DX)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Unfortunately the analogy ends there as the fool in the Beatle's song ends up being the wise man, where as Diplofool will always be the fool.
rratclif (0 DX)

Alright dip, I'll step up to the plate:

Abortion: Mandatory
Gay marriage: Mandatory
Gun control: Given to everyone at ages 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 (larger caliber every year)
Death penalty: Yes, but only by bear/wolf attack
Affirmative action: I hate to admit it, but I agree with you. No.
Iraq/Afghanistan: Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime... Give them nukes.
Pork-barrel spending: Increased
Role of government: Tyrannical
Armed forces: Given to aforementioned countries
NASA: 100% of efforts go to building TIE Fighters
Air travel: Zephyrs
Health care: Alcohol and Band-Aids. That's it.
Taxes: None
Welfare: For everyone.

As you can see we disagree quite a bit. Let the challenge begin!!!
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
You're all just enabling him right now... you all know that, don't you?
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
btw rratclif, the X-Wing was a superior machine. You're wrong about NASA. They should make X-Wings. I mean, really, where do you get the idea about TIE fighters. What garbage. lol
Glorious93 (901 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Yeah, your post lost all credibility for me because of that.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
22 Feb 09 UTC
Plus, TIE fighters can't fly to far from a star destroyer anyway. Since we don't have any of those, I agree with maint;we should build X-Wings.
rratclif (0 DX)
22 Feb 09 UTC
I figured the TIE fighters didn't need droids to help pilot them, and thus could be made sooner. You can't just jump into making things like X-Wings, you have to take baby steps.

Not joking, I actually thought about that one.
Chrispminis (916 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Lol there's a line around the block for people waiting to bash diplomat. Seriously, whenever he does anything, everyone comes out in droves. What about TGM's volunteer thread?
rratclif (0 DX)

@ Glorious: I'm glad to see my credibility lasted past mandatory abortion.

DarioD (2326 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
X-Wings, all the way. No reason to use TIE fighters.
Unless you wanted TIE fighters for the U.S. and X-Wings for Iraq and Afghanistan, that is... :P
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
The advantage X-Wings have over TIE fighters is that they can fly within the atmosphere. TIE's are limited to space, so rratclif, the reverse is true. We are closer to inventing X-Wings than TIEs. My friend who loves Star Wars even told me that the Air-Force sent a military representative to debrief George Lucas on his X-Wing design, fearing he may have stumbled across some top secret stuff somewhere by accident. I'm not sure if this is true, but it makes a great story.
rratclif (0 DX)
22 Feb 09 UTC
Hmmmmmm.... perhaps you're right.

We should increase NASA's funding just in case.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
22 Feb 09 UTC
Redirect funding for band-aids to NASA
maintgallant (100 D)
22 Feb 09 UTC
I think you are right. We need more big guns regardless, and we need to distribute them around the populace to free them from their duties to pay their taxes.

You just gotta love it when you predict somebody's every move.
Just the feeling of knowing that your inside their head, and putting in your orders, knowing the outcome.

Then, going back to see the outcome and seeing just how badly you just decimated them, and all your assumptions were correct.

I recently joined a game which was about to end and looked like it could take a long time (CD needed). So I went, a pause was required by the leading player, we agreed. Now Italy doesn't want to unpause and said he won't come back to play. http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=7712

I've had a player act like a jackass, and he's making inappropriate comments. He did it once so I ignored it, but now he's pushing it again. Do I need to report him or something?
