I think part of this kind of legislation is to put more landmines under the traditional family; this kind of revenge porn seems typically something that happens after the somewhat casual sexual relationships of the late 20th early 21st century and I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and say women are the main victim.
That said, I don't think the law should protect them in this particular area, rather education should. Or personal culture, if you will.

Uh, not at all. We can very easily share media now. Put something on tumblr and then scores of people can put it on their pages in the same afternoon, and on and on. But even if it didn't spread, putting it on one of the major porn websites that are in the double digits of most popular sites in the world is just as good as it being everywhere. Assuming the poster can be caught (dubious proposal) there ought to be severe sanctions for reputation damaging revelations like that.
