'Sin' should definitely be regarded with animosity. Regardless of how you define it, if you sin, it is bad. Its just people have different ideas of what sin is. If you feel sodomy is a sin and you commit it, it is a bad thing. If you don't feel sodomy is a sin and you commit it, then there's not a problem.

I'm not saying that any religion is correct, I'm saying that your dismissal of religion was illogical. The burden of proof is on anyone who claims to know whether something is true or not. Atheism is a set of beliefs, just like Theism, and should be treated in the same way.
I'm not the one suggesting that all matter and energy randomly popped into existence, in contradiction of all observations regarding conservation of matter and energy since, with no cause or purpose. I personally like to think that science is reliable enough that, when we regularly observe that matter and energy are conserved, then there is a good reason for it if they aren't.
