So let's get this straight, you want to discuss domestic US politics in a games forum with a lot of international players, many of whom will have a fair degree of knowledge on political issues, right?

OK, I'll bite. You want a tiny state, EXCEPT in spending on COOL STUFF that either blows stuff up or launches rockets.

You want to spend large sums of money with forces overseas, "until" they have a democracy, but haven't defined what you mean by that, and seem to be ignoring the point that the democratically elected govt of Iraq wants said forces to leave?

You want to resolve those contradictions?

Blindly saying the military and NASA, which are fast becoming the same thing, ought to have huge budgets and yet declaring a tiny role for government are incompatible. I don't want a nanny state by any means, but I certainly don't want military which possesses a government either.

I'm here, and I wondered, but I wasn't sure quite what was said.
In fairness, the point then was to stop the load of useless threads. If this was started with the same sort of topic, but by someone else, they would get a lot less hassle for it. I think it was a bad idea to start, but (had it been written more subtly) it might be an interesting addition to the forum.

Figlesquidge... I know that asking for more on the forum also means more homework for you and the other programmers, but could we divide phpDip into a LIBERAL section and a CONSERVATIVE section. This would stop my knee jerk reactions to the notions of political insanity as espoused by certain unnamed individuals.

Well, MG, we wouldn't exactl have constructive discussions of both sides of the issues if we sparated them into two forums based on the absurd two party system. Also, define legral and conservative. To most of Europe, liberal America IS conservative.

Personally, I think the forum should be split into different tabs:
General - Anything else, such as politics
New Games - To find people to start new games with
EoG Statements - End of game statements
Staff - This would give a chance to make a thread on the staff board. Only the creator of this and staff could read it or post to it. So, this would be the ideal place to ask about multi-accounting etc
Private - Personal messaging, including game-over notices

Could we divide the forums into a DIPLOMAT and EVERYONE ELSE section?

MG, it wasn't a shot. I spent a month in and around Germany and the people I met would agree that liberal America is very conservative by their standards. Conservative America is down right oppresive by their standards.
