Name some 'regular' activities you enjoy doing on a daily basis.
I'm going through a lifestyle change (which is going well, by the way) and although I haven't been particularly bored so far, that's probably because I'm still 'recovering' from my old lifestyle. Since I'm sort of coincidentally 'cutting down' on things I enjoy with this change as well, I need some replacement and at the same time I'd love to hear what webdippers do to enjoy themselves.

I think this is a major problem. There needs to be a way to unstar threads you decide you don't like anymore without muting them.

The Favorite Author Tournament: The Round of 64
So after an, um, interesting first match that became a friendly because 1. Neither Shakespeare nor Vergil should be pitted against top foes in the first round and 2. Stephenie Meyer was an embarrassment and was going to get her butt kicked by Virginia Woolf anyway, we start the Round of 64 in proper here. All the matches will be posted in here, we'll move on every 24 hours, assuming my computer doesn't die (anyone know how to fix "'Documents.library-ms' is no longer working?) Anyway!

I honestly was not going to participate in such a thread, mainly because I tend to use forum maybe 5 times a year and I don't really know anyone here, but from my experience in the last 3 days there is only one player who meets every part of your description - Krellin 100.

A thread dedicated to finding out which of us is the most crazy? It's about as futile as debating which sea is the wettest! (although kudos to Nigs for a fine attempt at self nomination).

I vote for the Aral Sea. A bit controversial as many will argue it's more of a lake, and others that it isn't nearly as wet as it used to be, but I feel the relative dryness of the land around it makes the sea itself feel at least 5% wetter than its ocean counterparts.
kaner406 (356 D)

Nah - the wettest sea is actually an inland lake. Lake Eyre to be precise.

I've never heard of Lake Eyre. Is it the book's (Jane Eyre) namesake?
Draugnar (0 DX)
08 May 14 UTC
Just looked it up. Interesting info. But I would say Lake Superior is the wettest for the amount of damage it can do. Freshwater, huge, and known for swallowing supertankers.
yassem (2533 D)
08 May 14 UTC
Well... If we classify wetness of objects by the amount of water in said object, than the wettest sea would be one most comprised of water. I don't think that official classification has been made on that matter, so I'd say the wettest would probably be the one with the smallest salinity - that is, I think, Baltic Sea, or at least it's northern part by the Gulf of Bothnia (a name we all know from Diplomacy)
yassem (2533 D)
08 May 14 UTC
Also - if we are talking about wet. A few years ago I had a long and heated argument with my friend: "How do you determine if something is wet or merely moist". We reached a conclusion after all, but if anyone would like to share his opinion i would love to hear it.
Draugnar (0 DX)
08 May 14 UTC
You have to find a means of measuring salinity versus volume. Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in North America (is there one larger in the world?) and has virtually no salination, so it would beat any salt water sea.
Draugnar (0 DX)
08 May 14 UTC
If something has standing water or can no longer absorb any more, it is wet. If it is able to contain all the water within it and has the ability to absorb more, it is moist.

@Darugnar, I see you are a big fan of the great lakes but the question was which SEA is the wettest. I think that none of the great lakes counts as a sea due to the nature of its connection with the ocean. The same way Caspian, Aral, Dead and Baikal seas are not really seas but rather just really big lakes. I still stand by my northern Baltic Sea

And, moreover, the definition of wet? It would mean that wet would have no gradation, so you must choose which one is it?
Our definition was "wet drips"

Fleet at Poland retreat to Ukraine?
gameID=138998

Okay, how on earth did Quebec's fleet at Poland manage to retreat to Ukraine despite not sharing a coastal border? Is this a bug or an obscure quirk of the World map? The variant homepage says nothing about any Pol-Ukr canal.

As With Crimea, So Too with Eastern Ukraine...
http://news.yahoo.com/rebels-declare-victory-east-ukraine-vote-self-rule-012033097.html "Organizers in the main region holding the makeshift vote on Sunday said nearly 90 percent had voted in favor." Yes...because when I think "legitimate democratic proceedings," the first thing *I* think of is a "makeshift vote"...and nearly 90% in favor, on such a divisive issue? You couldn't get 90% of people to agree what color the sky is! Will the West act NOW? (No. But let's chat, shall we?)

So I've been watching liveleak videos featuring violence and death and then went onto Omegle to talk about it and kept getting "16m u?" and now I'm depressed. Sam Cooke tells me it's been a long time coming but a change is gonna come? I am skeptical.

Statistics
I've been thinking of modifications to the ghostrating system, is there anywhere with a vast amount of diplomacy game data I can mine to test out the modifications? It doen't need to be from this site but I would prefer if it had data on individual turns and not just win/lose/draw/survive.
