Who wants a piece of this???
As some of you may have noticed, I've been discretely playing a random game here and there in the last bit. Having seen my last one end because a dumb ass resigned, I thought it was time for fiercer competition. Any takers?

SoW interest
Who would be interested in either a gunboat School of War or a regular School of War? These are teaching games for players who want to get better at either type of game. Post if you're interested in being a teacher or a student inside.

why can't Italy retreat to Romania?
gameID=103360 Autumn 1902, Retreats.... I attacked Greece from Serbia, was bounced, then kicked out of Serbia by another attack. Shouldn't I be able to retreat to Romania?

Clicking "+1" just takes you to the top of the page.
I tried to click the +1 icon on a posting I liked, but it just jumps you to the top of the page. Presumably this is something to do with the earlier WebDip outage.

so why are women evil?
ok so some girl i know banged her bf's friend. i have long since given up on my dream that women are naturally monogamous. in my years of experience i have discovered that they are naturally skanks. but there are some things i noticed that seemed to go beyond the call of duty...

Live game start or cancel.
So the site was out of order for a while. A live gunboat is still to begin (although it's set a 'now'), it doesn't start, nor can anyone leave. Is there anything we can do about this situation?

EOG: Top 7 active (not NMR-ing when losing) gunboater's
gameID=102550

Interesting in that the NMR'r in the orginal game (who motivated the parenthetical comment in the new title) was Sargemacher.

I was Italy in this one. I got surprised by Austria opening Tri-Adr, Vie-Tri. I thought for sure it would doom us both. Lando (Austria), were you trying to start up a Blue Water Lepanto? I thought about that possibility but a little too late, and Austria and I were locked in battle. Of course Turkey got good and strong because of that, so I went for what I considered my only hope, break the stalemate in the West and try to produce a solo threat early enough to force Turkey to take me under his wing. Thus I went after France (SplitD). Of course, this provoked quite a backlash. At first it looked like France was just trying to throw the game, but he eventually formed his part of the line and we were done with a 5-way draw. England seemed pretty slow to move into the void, but I guess he might have seen what I was seeing, France throwing the game, and he got a little too confident.

A pretty sucky outcome, but I guess I'm pretty happy with it considering how I was attacked by Austria in Spring '01 (and/or I blew the chance at the Blue Water) I wonder what that does to the GR when everybody is so high up there?

You and czech are in love with that dickhead move to trieste in spring 01.

I'll be honest, I misordered my fleet in Spain in 1909, which may have cost me the game. I did notice that France appeared to be throwing the game in my favor, so I decided to try and use that to my advantage to buy me a little time by leaving Portugal open. Unfortunately, it backfired and France ended up being caught smack in the middle of the stalemate. Same in the north - I didn't want Turkey getting too big and jumping on the stalemate in the east, so I supported Russia in Moscow, which proved to be to my disadvantage in the draw.

In the end, my judgement errors cost me the solo. Definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth, and based on my performance so far in the other Top 7 game, I'm unlikely to get rid of it anytime soon :(

It kicks ass on the stoopid Bohemian Crusher! And I was actually trying to be cute here too. Note that I didn't follow up with Rome-Venice but instead moved to Apulia. I was hoping to force a Key Lepanto. In fact, I usually move to Serbia after a successful "dickhead" capture of Trieste. If Austria supports Serbia into Greece, then I'd happily morph into a Key.

lol, well that kind of teamwork could possibly happen in a top 7 game but never in a regular game. And apparently the chances of it happening in a top 7 game are low too - afterall you didn't take lando up on his blue water lepanto (if that was his thought). But hey I'm terrible with italy and austria, so what do i know tbh.

Sargmacher has been banned
We don't normally discuss the details behind bans, but given the high visibility of this account and the inevitable questions that may arise, we have decided to make a statement to clarify matters.

Had a chance to explain American politics today
It was an interesting opportunity. It started with my coworker asking about the electoral college and evolved into a general question of how American politics works. Her reaction was mixed. I know we log on here every day and gripe about how our politics suck, but after my holistic explanation, I feel almost grateful we have politics to gripe about. Our problems really aren't that bad. (Unless Romney/ Ryan wins, jk! not really.)

Surprised that BOTH France and Germany just rolled over to England. Both guys just vacated their own home and never really defended it, thus allowing England to roll.

Game
In commemoration of a string of high-profile bans lately, I've created a game to celebrate. I am looking forward to decreasing the number of games "infected" by a multi from 45% to about 10%, which is what mine is. If you want the password, message me. Don't play if you're a multi because the mods will be keeping close tabs on all of us I'm sure.

Why does the United States still use the electoral college?
I feel it is outdated and unrepresentative. The millions of us who are political minorities within our states that are statistically impossible to swing are essentially left out of the entire election as much as foreigners are left out. This is undemocratic and unjust, is it not? If not, why not?
