Is it considered acceptable by gunboat rules - in general - to vote for a draw in one where you think its appropriate? It doesn't REALLY seem to count as press, but it does signal some sentiment.
I joined a game last night, and I just checked on it this morning, and the game's not there any more. It was in the pre-game phase. Is there any way this can happen?
One of the players will be away this weekend because of his graduation. He has requested the pause but the vote may not be passed in time. Can we have one of the admins to please pause this game for us?

Edi's comment in the gunboat posts got me thinking about support orders issued that don't show up on the map because the attack they're supporting doesn't happen. How often do players look over the orders issued?
Turkey or England. Agreed. Although I have a German one doing OK and have seen Italy do OK provided he covers his backside from Austria. Russia is the worst as everyone seems to jump on her from the start.
the trick with russia in a gunboat game is to avoid over extending yourself ... and a lot of hoping that everyone doesn't march towards you in season 1.
Depending on the nature of the Gunboat rules: fixed time, or open, restrictions on communication via orders (for example is Army Paris supports London to Berlin allowed as a way to communicate an alliance intent), and if you control for games where everyone plays
Statistically on several of the large Gunboat Tournaments, France and I believe Turkey come out ahead.
I have a rather bad habit of entering wrong orders first move in these games. I do not know why unless the lack of discussion makes me careless. I have done it in four out of my last seven gunboat games. For all other variants, it is about twice in 129 on here. Strange.
I therefore have to say that my record in gunboat is crap: messed up first moves are very, very costly.
In my gunboat game, I wanna support England into brest, but I don't think I should take the risk of assuming he/she's going there, and plus, i'll feel like a douche doing it a gunboat game...
the most important rule of a gunboat game is not to talk about gunboat game, even on the forum. any of the other players could read this thread, and that ruins the spirit of the game.

I'm playing France in this game and I had three builds. I ordered Fleet Marseilles, Army Paris, and Army Brest. The army I ordered built in Paris did not appear on the map or in my orders.
