@Fiedler: The thread title does not scorn or insult either Muslims, Christians, or white people. Towards whom is it racist?

This one does indicate a race (white), saying that the only Christians to invade Muslim lands from Europe were white. It assumes there are no other Christians in Europe except white people, or that only the white ones invaded. It would have been better off just stating "Christians invading Muslim Lands" to be more inclusive.

Because it makes it seem the only people capable of war-mongering were the "White" Christians, and not just Christians in general. There's no need to point out a race associated with the religion, if the religion is the one that's attacking, then that's what should be pointed out. That being said, if you are basing it off 1901 then religion shouldn't be in the title at all...it's not like 1901 was the Crusades where the attack was done in the name of advancing religion.

Racism can pick any arbitrary category, like skin-colour, or religion, or other - and ise it to discriminate. To exclude a sub-group from the equality and fair treatment that we in the west *claim* to hold fundamental.

That is why racism is against our values. Race is jot defined by biolgists, it is a social category, created by those in power who want to disenfranchise of justify the disempowermen of some group - so historically it was used to justify slavery - based on skin colour - and currently it is based on religion to justify excluding muslims from America (from the same rights as other immigrants with visas and green cards to enter the US...)

It is fundamentally the same thing. Islamaphobia is Racism.
