Some thoughts about this list. First off, North, MAO, and Black are all pretty obvious; they afford a say in a bunch of SCs. Ionian is the key to Italy's defense and Turkey's advance. Galicia is a must for a Germany solo, and gives Russia and Austria both a ton of problems if they don't solidly hold it. Albania seems to shake out who is going to dominate the Balkans, and Ruhr the Low Countries and the Germany/France border. Silesia is a marvelous stalemate line transit point. The Baltic and Finland basically together decide who is going to get Scandinavia.

The territories can all become equally important depending on the situation...I don't really think one could or should do a list ranking them.

Under that model, the ranking then is how likely are the spaces to become important to the given situation. Sure, there's times when Clyde proves critical, but they are few and far between.

My point is that this discussion is entirely pointless as there are no solid grounds at all to discuss on. It's like discussing favorite colors.

Yes, I get your point. I find it unpersuasive. There are territories which more frequently than others wind up playing a critical role in how games are played.
