Longest streak is a tie, on FB back in the day I got France(my second favorite) 4 times in a row(with 2 Germanys right before and 1 right after) and 4 Austria(my favorite to play as) on Vdip

I only drew Austria once but it was hella fun to play.

haha yes Austria is my favorite. I love the challenge it brings, not to mention it was the very first country I ever played as, and I won with it(stabbing 5 of the 6 other players to do it)

Germany's my favorite country to play. Lots of Diplomacy to do, you can't just make plans and proposals, you have to understand the flow of the game around you to play it well.

I am like redhouse. For full Diplomacy, Germany is the most interesting to play. It's a crap shoot in gunboat as S01 has nothing to go on and everyone or no one may come after you. But for full press, it's *fun* to be the Kaiser!

I haven't had a streak of drawing the same country consecutively, but I did go 22 games without drawing Russia a while ago.

All for it. Have one in my basement. I prefer to play cash games, 1-3 no limit $100 min to 500 max buy in. But I can do sit-n-go style for $100. I have a poker toruney clock that can push us through the blind schedule.

Yeah, it never comes out "in game" unless I'm eliminated (or about to be) then I like to go hellalt on everyone and have a little fun. Sometimes the chainsaw diplomacy even works!

When I'm not trolling, I try to be a rational and reasonable person. But ocassionally the troll in me comes out.

I get the western powers a lot. I remember having three France games simultaneously, as well as three Germany games.

In contrast, I hardly ever draw the east. I've only completed one game each as Russia and Turkey outside of the all-country gunboat tournament.

No worries. I would never cheat. My closest was when I held a paused game hostage for a draw and that go tthe new rule insitutied. That or maybe when I totally fucked up the pacifist variant and really got the mods pissed at me. But we have moved beyond that. I just have to keep paying back my winnings. J/K.

I got Germany 4 times in a row once, followed up with Russia and then got 2 more Germany games.

well when you get the same country several times, as long as they are not a big points games then use it as an opportunity to experiment and learn new tricks
I had what I thought was a horror run of getting Italy & Russia, & every new game I joined to get away from having to play those countries backfired & I kept getting them
I decided to try different opening's & learnt how to play Russia better ( I am still useless with Italy -- the only way I can see to win with Italy is by a series of backstabs )

I have just finished the last game I had going -- & I am going to have a break from WebDiplomacy for a few months -- I decided I had too much to deal with on my "domestic" front about two months ago -- but I was in a few games & felt obligated to other players with whom I had made alliances & it has taken some time to play out those games.

The first few games I played, I got France a bunch of times. The only times I've gotten France since my first few games have all been cancelled.

Lately, been getting Russia a lot. I think I got Russia in 3 or 4 gunboats in a row. I've decided playing Russia either means I will have ten centers in F03 or be eliminated by then.
