I'm still new to the site, so I noticed that if orders are submitted there's a gray check next to your name but only when its finalized does it turn green. If the turn expires without submitted moves being finalized, are the orders followed?

I hope to finish my league games first, but that may not be possible. Anyone interested in entering a few moves here and there until all of my games are finished?
I would really like to see a clean map at the end of each season in addition to the board which shows everyone's moves with arrows and explosions and whatnot. By a "clean map" I mean a map that shows where every piece has moved to without the indicators of how it got there/which supports succeeded or were cut. I find that trying to plan the next season's moves is quite obnoxious with all of the arrows and other icons shooting off everywhere. Thank you much.
that russia just disbanded a fleet at STP (nc) and yet i can still order NWY support hold STP? it's confusing at best, so probably best to remedy it if possible?
Did we ever get this resolved? I'm pretty sure I just got hit by it... I don't have a screenshot, but there's no way I would have pressed Irish... That's just stupidity.
I was just looking at the new stat on our profile pages: Game Messages. I was wondering if anyone (read: Ghostmaker) could do some data mining to determine if there is a relationship between number of game messages sent and your likelihood to win or draw.
My hypothesis is that people with a higher games messages/game will have a higher probablilty of winning or drawing.
I'm sure there's probably a lot more to this type of statistical analysis. Anyone care to help?
well it's obviously not direct, but i would imagine the greater of the former, the more of the latter. but plenty of folks have more wins than me and half as many game messages. bad players can still be quite talkative! lol
If I was going to do that, I would have to get hold of a database dump including that information, because I am not going to load the server by scraping the data.
Wow, DJ, you do write a lot - you have more messages than me with 5 times less games. I though I was writing too much myself, obviously that's far from reality...
@vaft - well that's not the case b/c some people don't talk back. so i don't talk much to them. the ones who do talk a lot, well, they never stop hearing from me.
i bet several thousand of the messages are the jbalcorn. he and i sure can jabber on... lol
With the messages statistics, is it also possible to find out the length of the messages? If it's not the results might be corrupted if one player prefers to use long messages and a second splits it up into several messages.
Gunboat and public press games are a problem, as they will also correlate with better players quite strongly. Length is probably less likely to correlate.
for the mods and any other interested party - i am currently sitting for stratagos and danikine74. i am not currently in any games with either of them, though i have played against stratagos once before and danikine74 a number of times. if anyone has any questions, let me know.
Although there is a very nice message about how countries are assigned equally based upon previous game country assignments, I have been in 4 games on this site and have gotten to be Austria 4 times. Nice to be so lucky, but I am really confused how this works. Could someone in charge please explain it to me.
