Well, leaving the site isn't necessary... I'd recommend just starting a new account and playing clean this time.

I am personally convinced that diegohb is a metagamer simply because he has decided to leave the game after an accusation. I don't believe that this is the course of action that a person would take if they were honest.

I'm not sure that I was against you? Just what you said... it's not as though I was saying, "get out." Although I stand by my opinions, in the end, that's all they are, opinions.

What you are now doing pretty much means that you are metagaming, even if you didnt. If you are innocent, why dont you stand up strong and stay here, you dont need to care too much on opinions, just as Thucydides said.

I personaly believe diegohb is not cheating. For a cheater, he may cancel his account easily and register another instead. No need to burn energy here.

The posts by Thucydides and arthurmklo are correct. The only innocent man who ever ran was Dr. Richard Kimble. Even then he was innocent running made even him look guilty and I was watching from the beggining. i knew he didn't do it. :)

I find your behavior both in the games and in the forums to be strange and rude. How you act is your choice to make, but I am not asking you leave. I do ask you to think about your behavior. What might cause people to accuse constantly accuse you of things you say you do not do? Either you are doing these things, and you should stop. Or, you aren't, and you should defend yourself firmly and respectably. Your overdramatic behavior here leads me to believe that you have issues you need to work out either way.

I think Diegohb is a really troubled person.

Many of us have been accused of metagaming, often with less to base accusations on, and in much worse ways, by telling it to eveyone privately or just telling it in public. All I did was to tell him about my suspicions directly and only implying my suspicion to another player, without ever starting a huge rumour or bringing it to the forums.

First he called me names in return, which I thought was normal, perhaps bad sports at worst. Then he brought it to the forum himself and I thought he was just acting stupidly and very angry for some reason.

Then he started two threads with names like 'Anti-Anlari crusade'. I thought his suggestions were arguable at worst, but the way he directed them in such a hostile way to me was very immature at worst.

Now he is saying he is leaving the site because people did not agree with him, which really makes me think he has issues and can't deal with people not obeying to his will.

And guess what I just saw! Two games named Anlari1 and Anlari2 filled with accounts named Metagamer, Anlari1, Anlari2 going up to Anlari6.

I don't care about the harassment campaign he seems to be trying to launch - it is not working anyways, but I am starting to pity him.
What I thought was a whining, immature kid now appears more like a very troubled person. Seek psychological help, for your own sake.

And I don't think I need to say that those games and accounts have nothing to do with me.

I hate it when people cheat. And when people waste my time.

I am being a slack with bringing out the phpDip updates, but I had a more important web project for a relative's charity which also had a deadline which took up some of my hobby time.

Hopefully you can all bear it a while longer, but if not you can always subscribe to the phpdip mailing list at the phpdiplomacy sourceforge site and come back when things are more bearable.

Remember the current version was written back when phpDip had around 1/20th the number of regular visitors than it does at the moment, so some parts are definitely going to get strained. It's almost surprising there aren't more problems with the current system.

I dont have a problem with you diegohb, i often vote against reforms to the system and it doesnt mean i hate the person suggesting them!
If you're still around in the new year i'd be quite happy to set up a game with us in it to show there's no hard feelings.......i might even ally with you :p

"This kind of community?" Sure, there are cheaters, but I think most of the people who play here are rather honest, just like with any scandal, just the "few" spoiling things for the "most". I think, personally, that there should be SOME kind of punishment, but not anything like immediate banishment.

Three things I'd like for the New Year:

1. Cheating Policy of some kind.
2. MORE TOUNAMENTS! The 1st was fun, though I exited early.
3. Make the "Dip-Awards" avatars you can put next to your name. It'd be kind of cool (but best stabber might not work out too well lol.)

Look, diegohb, there are scammers, cheaters, hackers, metagamers, jackasses, etc. in EVERY single multiplayer game you will EVER play. Don't just leave because one person slanders your name.

However, if you simply cannot live with that, maybe you should go.

whatever happens to diegohb, can you please put your moves in the games you are playing right now? I just waited a full 24 hours because you didn't finalize any moves, and now I have to wait another 24 hours so you can finalize a retreat. make it better for everyone please.
