M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread

@teacon I’ve made a couple posts on vapour, and he hasn’t improved much if you ask me.

Take his most recent post, where he states he has kept pushing for a Percy lynch, when in fact all he’s previously said about Percy is that he’d be “up for his lynch” with no reasoning. The early vote on him was a pressure vote. Vapour also never mentioned EMC as a scumread, yet apparently thinks he’s scum, again with no reasoning. The two scumreads that pop up out of nowhere are you and damo, but he says although he scumreads these two he won’t vote them? Like overall he’s not making a lot of sense.

Overall very hedgy play and if you read his posts it seems like he’s having trouble deciding who to scumread, which seems like a very scummy problem to have.

Moscow, have you played with Vapor before?

Yes. And as town he’s a lot less EMC (which he seems to be this game) and a lot more yelling that x is town and y is scum, with at least some reasoning. He’s been a lot different this game.

Dude. I think you’re making this a much bigger deal than it needs to be. You really think he went back, found your read list as scum, and decided to copy it as scum?

Now that being said, he hasn’t done anything to convince me he’s town so I’m down for his lynch if there’s nothing better. But not specifically for what you’re bringing up.

I can't see it as mere coincidence. I can come up perhaps with an innocent explanation but it's certainly not the one damo gave, that "we think alike".

he's hedgy, which is a second to third tier lynch offense for D1. read my post on pg27. for the rationale.

i'd point out that your point about similar phrasing has some merit, but might be a bit of projection. "hey, that's what I say when I'm scum! therefore, he's scum!" It's similar phrasing, but maybe temper the amplitude of your read since he might not play scum the same way you do.

It's not "that's the kind of thing I say when I'm scum", it's "that's the very same turn of phrase I used last game", there's an important difference there.

Now suddenly he cannot recognise me? This is very weird for Moscow, especially since he's so much aware and has been accurately predicting my alignment. I feel like he's one-dimensional this game, on a tunnel. I gave options because I have looked at everyone meanwhile Moscow kept it safe

My vote on Percy is obvious no longer for pressure, I'm not pleased with what he offered so far.

I do think that Damo should be the lynch today, not necessarily for those highlighted reasons, but because of his actions. I haven't seen anything that he has done that has been town indicative.

Nah, this isn’t your same style. I really don’t like this post, as it tries to establish that you’re playing by your town meta. Let town decide that for you.

It's a pretty mixed game in terms of players from old vets to newcomers, but the length played on this website doesn't equate to experience.

Yes because he's mostly posting in a way that is not constructive and is only scum reading people who are voting him. Like I don't see how that isn't scum indicative. He could be town but of the options, he's the most likely person to be scum that I've seen so far.

What do you think of my "policy" of a D1 lynch pool of low-commitment posters?

Eh I don't agree with it. Lynching a low commitment poster day 1 usually generates little info where need to maximize it early on. Especially with all the stuff that can cause someone to be "low commitment". Especially since the current person that seems to be falling on is damo who I feel has been townie in his posts despite his low word count. Especially when it's between lynch person who is saying little but what they do say actually has content vs person who is saying a lot but has little actual content beyond "the people who think this is suspect are scum".

What does espresso sound like to you rn? too polite? not pretty enough?

You do realize that you tried to load the question with two modifiers which are...both negative. And I think he's fine, durga explaining that he's always polite makes me less confident in my town read of him but so far his content has been good and cordial and substantive from what I have experienced.

I do not think the similarity to xorxes means anything, but damo is still my top scum suspect for other reasons. I am not scum this game.
