Re: The Live League
I would love to play on February 2nd or 3rd, press or gunboat or both. Really at any time at all, though mornings/afternoons (NYC time) would be marginally easier for me. I really only like the Classic map, though.

Re: The Live League
How would a 2:00NYC time this Saturday game be for everyone? Classic map, rulebook press, anon?
Re: The Live League
Some people are trying to claim me for Saturday, so I'm also going to need some more info.. Will either game be Gunboat?
Re: The Live League
Is that am or pm?
am yes, pm no. (assuming NYC means GMT-5)

Re: The Live League
I can start a game for this Saturday at 2:00 pm NYC time. That's 1100am West coast time. That's 8:00 pm for Claesar (or 20:00 since I know elgium does it that way and I assume Holland is the same) or 7:00pm GMT time. Does this work for enough people?
Re: The Live League
In if it's Gunboat!
I'll be up for FP when I'm no longer ill, but it's too much for me right now.

Re: The Live League
Why don't I start one of each at the same time and we go with whichever generates more interest? Or if we are really daring some of us could play both at the same time

Re: The Live League
Ok all- I've started two games for this coming Saturday at 2:00pm east coast time(11:00am west coast, 7:00pm gmt time, and 8:00pm/20:00 in western europe). Hopefully this time frame works well for everyone. The passcode for the press game is norwich, and the passcode for the gunboat game is mystic. Hope to see you all there! http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=236211 http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=236212

Re: The Live League
I'm not sure where 2017 comes from, but I offered to support this as a pilot idea by making all entrance fees completely reimbursable some time ago. I have yet to receive a reply on the matter, and until the creator of the league agrees that it's a worthy idea, I can't go forward with it. However, I imagine that he'll agree to it when he sees it. Once that happens, I'll put the banner back up that we had before and we can get down to the details and hopefully get this thing off the ground, but to suggest that the website is responsible for the current state of affairs in this thread is pretty irresponsible and insulting to those few of us that give the website much more than we take from it.
What this needs is more member support. Initially, it looked as if it had that, and like the Live Game Tournament I hosted a few years back it appeared that a solid membership base would allow it to run successfully, even if it was just a pilot. Since then, I have noticed a shift in the attitude toward this idea from one of hopeful optimism to unsubstantiated pessimism, and it appears to me that this shift occurred before anyone ever really gave this whole thing a fair shot.
The proper attitude at this juncture would not be to write a dramatized eulogy for webDiplomacy, as if there weren't other disrespectful people doing the same thing nearly a decade ago when I joined this site (and still we are here), but to put a little more into it. Make a new thread advertising the game, and link it to this one. Message members that signed up but haven't really shown their face in here since. Message active players that never signed up in here as maybe they never saw it. Post about it in the webDiplomacy Discord channel. Post about it on the webDiplomacy Facebook page. This definitely has not been given everything we have to give it and thdfrance should not be the only one responsible for taking the big steps here.

Re: The Live League
Plus, NEFS and I played a live game (half an hour before the scheduled time..). Without ILN, who left the game due to a lack of faith

Re: The Live League
Not to mention, a Key Lepanto 2WD earlier in the day.
The issue is that people just aren't aware of the forum post. A user expressed interest in that game but had no idea of the League to begin with.
