Re: 2018 Gunboat Tournament
The mod team was a bit understaffed these past two weekends. We are looking into this.

As a reminder, you'll be playing five games as five different powers. 420 tournament points will be split evenly between each member of a draw, or awarded entirely to the soloist in the case of a solo. The winner(s) will be the player(s) with the most points in the finals. There will be split prizes rather than tiebreakers, and first round scores no longer matter.
In the preliminary round, you were assured that you wouldn't play the same player twice. That's obviously not possible here, so the only assurance is that you will play five different countries. I used the same soft-seeding algorithm as the first round to keep games "fair", but it's just based on first round scores, and it's soft, so there's little to read into there.
There are three extra games containing players who are not in the tournament in the hopes of making it more difficult to break anonymity once we only have a few games left. Many thanks to the volunteers playing those games. They will not be included in tournament scoring.
If anyone needs to sub out at any point, their games will be offered to first round players in order of score (just as Kench replaced naked). Players in the extra games will not be eligible.
Each player has a week of pause time to be split up as they wish. Any pause that isn't short-term and directed at a specific game will result in the pausing of all games, since you all share games. Because the holidays are approaching, if more than one player needs a pause at the same time in December, that time will not be counted against total pause time.
Please PM me with any questions or concerns, and try to enjoy yourselves a bit.
Good luck!

Re: 2018 Gunboat Tournament
I strongly disagree. Our inbox was nice and clean i.e. there were no outstanding (pause) requests/questions/complaints. In fact, I doubt our average response time has ever been faster than the last three months.peterwiggin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 4:00 amI feel like you've been understaffed for a little longer than that.

I have completed the sisyphean labour of awarding all 100ish solo winners with 250 points each. Please don't ever allow so many solos again, this was horrible to process.
If you achieved one or many solos in this tournament but believe you have not received your points, please PM me so I can check the logs to prove you wrong.

Thanks for funding my bad habit of joining gunboat games with buyins that are above my paygrade, Claesar.

Hadn't even noticed the points until I read it here. Thanks Claesar! Alright, ready for a 500pt game.
Re: 2018 Gunboat Tournament
Hey ghug - I'm going on holiday not sure if I'll have coverage from tomorrow afternoon through to the evening of the 8th, but I might as the hotel SAYS it has Wifi, but I can't be certain - we are only allowed 1 week total pause time correct?
Re: 2018 Gunboat Tournament
We can fudge a day if there's an emergency. Let me know tomorrow if you have internet.
