There were 54 fishes last time, the stock has gone up by one. How are you calculating 16-19 caught?

Catch = PreviousFishcount - 2/3 CurrentFishcount +/-2Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 1:09 pmThere were 54 fishes last time, the stock has gone up by one. How are you calculating 16-19 caught?
= 54 - 55*2/3 +/-2
= 54 - 36.66 +/- 2
= 17.33 +/- 2
so minimum 15.33 => 16 since can only catch whole fish
maximum = 19.33 => 19 since can only catch whole fish
So possible range is {16,19}
Voila.
My orders are in.
Can we speed this up ?

I am waiting for the GM to answer a question I asked him via PM, and then I will input my orders.
In the meantime I can report that I investigated Damo. I could not see how many fish he caught, but he did not perform any actions other than fishing, according to my result.

Shame you didn't get the count but I can confirm I didn't act last phase. I will be tonight, beware!Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:12 pmI am waiting for the GM to answer a question I asked him via PM, and then I will input my orders.

Re: Tragedy of the Commons: a social experiment (game thread)
Note:
I asked the GM to explain how we score points for catching fish.
He explained as follows:
"It's not x points per fish. It's diminishing returns. The first fish is worth 8 points (although 1 fish scores 7, because 0 fish would score -1). The second is worth 4. The third is worth 3. The fourth is worth 2. And the last is worth 1.
Points represent mostly money, but also general happiness. You have to spend more time fishing to get more fish, and more time to sell it, or if you eat it, the second fish isn't as good as the first. Like multiple cups of coffee."

Mm well i beg to differ. If you have an ability that allowed you to gain more points than the amount you would get from your normal fishing amount, please specify now or otherwise i will bring hte hammer downkingofthepirates wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 9:56 pmgood sir, what have I done? Re: Tragedy of the Commons: a social experiment (game thread)
yes I do. a job, basically, it lets me do work and gain points based on that, though also limits my fishing. Since we were sticking to 2 fish anyway, I've been using my work ability to supplement my income.

I had to apply for mine. Remember the whole thing the GM said about role playing?
Maybe if you message the GM he will let you apply for a junior position at the grocery store.
