I thought the whole point of this thing is that WE make these fucking decisions. Otherwise this is just Brainbomb''s wank fantasy and we are just bystanders.

Someone reassure me.

This is our world map.

Currently the party is in Rodoripol in the captial city, deliberating on where to found a colony in the name of the king.

Events taking place are things happening in the capital.

At any time the party may vote ##END
And a majority will move the phase into Phase 1.
During this time there is role playing, supposition, plot development, and character actions.

The council may vote and gather
Avendi, Falrin, Xanthor may vote despite taking actions since all quests are within the city so far.

Current Pregame Charter

##Proposal 0.1 - Establish a barony in Esfillied, hex 36,16. :!:

##Proposal 0.2.1 - Select Wood Elves for our first starting population :!:

##Proposal 0.2.2 - Select Humans for our second starting population :!:

##Proposal 0.3 - Accept the King's gracious offer of (3) Food, (2) Horses, (1) Stone :!:

Outstanding Issues
[*]Insufficient votes exist on current legislation

[*]Legislation under the kings decree of year 319 states no law may become official without 3 votes in favor. Proposing anything counts as a vote of yes. Seconding any proposal also counts as a yes.

[*]if you wish to create a different voting system, it must be approved by King Thamrick, a Judge (Liberatius), or a Notary of his majesty (Uthwick, Pavel).

It probably seems like this is just brainbomb randomly forcing people to read bad fantasy but its actually 3 gms playing characters, and creating a world with a story to accompany a very civ-like game that we are putting a ton if mechanics, and content into.

Just a glimpse ahead
Phase 1 you get to research new technology
Choose a religion
Build your colony
Explore
Manage your vitals
Fix a crisis card issue
Buy your character items, equipment if you wish to do so

And more

It is as he says. This game is a heavy mix of DnD (the story, mechanics, and style of the game) and Civilization (resource collecting/management/army building). Brainbomb created the world and setup the map, he, Thamrick, and I have been working together to flesh out more details and make his world seem as real as we can. We've created an assortment of NPCs for the party to interact with, and a basic overall storyline of events happening around the world. Now we wait to see what the players decide to do, and work to keep everything flowing smoothly. Nothing is set in stone for anything that will happen in the game as there is always an element of chance (dice rolls/crisis cards pulled) that we can't control, as well as player actions that change things. We all hope that everyone enjoys playing this game as much as we enjoy running it.

Just a note about resource collection/production in this Sim.

This simulation will run slightly different than past simulations. There will be an emphasis on time in this sim, particularly as it pertains to Food.

Food Consumption
-During the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, your population will consume Food at a rate of 1 Food per 100 population in the colony (you are starting with 200, prior to any race bonuses).

-During the Winter season, your population will consume Food at a rate of 2 Food per 100 population.

Farms
-Farms generate the majority of food during the Harvest (in the Fall).

-Farms provide minor food additions while they are being worked.

-Plots of farmlands MUST be worked during the Spring and Summer in order to produce during the Fall.

-Farms cannot be worked on during the Winter

Hunting/Gathering
-Food may also be gathered through hunting and fishing.

-Each area will have it's own density of wildlife available for hunting and fishing.

-Trees may be chopped down to provide Wood.

Specifics
-For every 10 workers working the Farmlands, the Farms provide .1 Food.
-For every 10 workers sent to hunt, they return with a base rate of .5 Food. This is subject to wildlife density rates and chance.
-For every 10 workers sent to fish, they return with a base rate of .2 Food.
-For every 10 workers sent to chop trees, .5 Wood will be produced.

-Each plot of Farmland can produce 1-3 Food per Harvest. This will be determined by a weighted combination of chance (dice roll) and field fertility (increased through research as well as how much the Farmland has been worked during Spring and Summer).

-Each plot of Farmland can be worked on by up to 50 workers.

-You can determine where your workers will be sent to hunt. The farther they are sent, the longer it will take to return with the food (depending on the tile terrain). The tile selected to hunt will have a wildlife density rate which will determine the hunting yield. The same applies for fishing (though these rates are more stable).

-Wood produced through chopping trees is a rough resource. Structures built from this rough resource will be less stable. Through technological advancements and upgraded structures, a processed resource will become available to improve the longevity of structures.

-Forests are a renewable resource. Trees chopped down will slowly regenerate. Areas may be deforested and unable to produce more Wood until they regenerate.

***Your settlement will start out with 3 Food in addition to the stimulus package chosen.***

Valeria (Half Elven, Female. Diplomat).
Diplomatic encounters with ‘high society’ are 75% more likely to succeed, with ‘savages/commoners’ are 75% more likely to fail.
Passive Traits: [Positive] adds +2 to diplomatic relations when held at a suitable location with suitable participants.

Valeria:
Greetings. You are the kings chosen barons. You are considering a colony of Humans and Wood Elves in the heart of Esfillied. I will be a voice of the people as a Half-Elven maiden.

I seek to join your Barony.

A. Hire her. Fills (1/2) Specialist slots
B. Decline

##CALL DUNGEONMASTER

How did the constable die? Was he killed in the fire?

Is any of this our concern anyway since we are about to leave this city and set up our own town in the woods?

Where did the 500 gold rewards come from? Our treasury or the city's?

I'm really not clear on the passage of these events.

There was a discord chat (link posted earlier) where these events occurred. The Constable met with 2 strange men, and then was stabbed/his home set on fire. The exact order of events is unknown but it is more than likely that he eas stabbed by 2 daggers (killing him) then his home set ablaze. These funds are being added to the individual members accounts from the city, they may choose to spend it individually or add it to the councils account.

Are we playing the game here, or on Discord?

Why is all this stuff going on if we're still in the sign-up phase?

Discord is where private discussions with various NPCs might occur, and where different missions will happen. If you end up sending your character on a mission, you will be given a series of choices, depending on what you choose and how the dice rolls (d100, lower is better) you will be successful or not. Discord is not required until those missions occur. Voting will occur here as it is easier to tally up the votes, and here is where the Council is able to make and vote on proposals. We are currently in Pre-Game status, so some events on occurring to set the mood, and possible reveal events/characters to the party before being met during the actual game. I dont believe that there will be any Pre-Game events that impact the future of your Barony as a whole, but as just demonstrated, 2 members were able to receive useful items to start off with (although that was a high risk high reward mission).
