This explanation sounds pretty reasonable to me, actually. I'd be interested to hear what other people think about it.

I get Damo's explanation and voting for a tie is generally always considered a scum move so people tend never to do it. It is anti-town play as it prevents us getting any information from the daykill.

However, after Damo had the option of at least trying to force a tie and didn't take up that option, why does he them say after the flip "I'd have been happy with a tie"? That's the bit that raises my hackles.

After brain flipped confirming his town status and believing HB to be town of course I would have been happy with a tie. I have no problem saying so.

A probability person like you should know that this makes no sense.

The chances of 4 townies all voting town both days is (19/25)*(17/22)^4=11.9%.

It is therefore quite likely there is at least 1 scum in the four (another way of saying not ALL town). The chance an individual town randomly votes 2 town in a row is about 58.7% so not taking anything else into account any one individual is more likely to be town but collectively the group is very likely to contain AT LEAST ONE SCUM.

Not everyone has the same level as influence as others. Damo's style is short and sweet, not built to be a strong argument pusher. In fact, I cannot really recall Damo making strong cases on anyone ever, it's usually something like 'X is scum' and a vote with it.

I’m offended by this math. You’re making several faulty assumptions. First of all, you’re assuming that everyone’s votes are independent of each other. You’re also assuming that every town player just randomly chooses someone to vote for.

I’m getting the impression that you’re looking to catch someone in an inconsistency (e.g., Damo), and you’re calling out inconsistencies as “scummy.”

But townies do inconsistent stuff too. It may actually be that they act inconsistent with their stated reads more.

Let’s agree that Damo had a strong town read of his up for a daykill, and he did nothing to save that person/did not vote to save that person. Is that what you’d expect from Scum!Damo! I feel like Scum!Damo would feel more compelled to act. Scum!Damo is trying to blend in and trying to fabricate a set of protown priorities.

Also as an aside, I don’t think you’re scum anymore. When I said I suspected you based on voting, it was because I thought you jumped on the Teacon train when it was too late to matter. I was told by I think kgray that I could have mattered and after seeing how fast the brain wagon took off, I buy this now. Also looking back in posting, I think you lean town now.
