I like that this is still going strong, and the fact I don't recognise half the people who are playing is even better, good to see new blood is still coming in. I might play in one of the upcoming games, depending on whether or not my furlough gets extended as I suspect it will be. Been a long time since I played some forum mafia...

Hey guys,

For a side project/learning tool for myself, and in anticipation of a few larger projects in the future, I'm going to over the next few weeks be putting together a WebDip Mafia (or possibly Mafia in general) companion / history / stats site. Here's my "roadmap" for it, as it stands. If anyone has additional ideas/feature suggestions, or initial ideas, I'd like to hear them as they could influence the best design behind the scenes.

Phase 1: The initial plan is to build out a game list, including game thread links, title/theme, GM list, start/end date, a player list, a role list, factions in the game, and winning factions/players. Additionally, each player will be linked to their role per game, and each role will be linked to each game and what player had it in that game. Roles will be structured in a hierarchical fashion, though I haven't quite figured this out yet (i.e. searching for 'Doctor' will return all Doctor-derived roles, too).

Phase 2: Game Setup Sandbox / First Post/Rule Generator. Basically, a way for people to mix and match roles, alignments, etc., choose which version of the rules they want to use, and then generate a game setup starter post/document. Including inserting flavor names, win conditions, etc.

Phase 3: Incorporate phase-by-phase non-post information (lynch results, night actions, outcomes).

Possible Phase 4: Incorporate the peterbot. If peter objects, this one will not happen, though - I don't want to step on his toes too much.

Future Ideas:
-improved game searching/indexing/viewing
-play games on the site itself...?
-generic mafia adjudicator
- item support?

This sounds interesting - from my perspective mostly out of interest in terms of individual player results on a more detailed level than before.

Peter's Bot already provides the Phase 3 information as long as the game originally ran with the Bot in operation.

Due to personal reasons, I need to delay the game EMC and I were going to run. If someone else could step in for the next mainline game, that would be really helpful.

So, time for a rules discussion.

During the mini-game which just ended, at MyLo, the remaining Mafia member decided to no-kill, for one night phase, while Town were pursuing a no-lynch strategy. The next night there was a kill and the game moved into the final phase.

There was a debate about this in the God QT at the time. Several people took the view that it should be against the rules for Mafia to withhold their kill if the game is in MyLo.

The current master rules that we have do not say this.

epic mafia used to rule that if any side did a no lynch 3 phases in a row they lose
and if mafia no kills 3 nights in a row they lose

if both sides no lynch and no kill 3 times in a row the game is a tie

Apologies if what I did was considered unsportsmanlike. We'd previously discussed holding the kill in the scumchat, so I assumed that was an option in general, and I didn't consider that the game being at mylo would change things. I was not planning to continue to hold the kill in an effort to get town to just lynch before a NK went through, and I wasn't trying to delay the game in any way. I was just trying to cause confusion and attempt to implicate a player who wasn't online at the time.
