The setup looks fun, and the flavo(u)r is a favorite.


##callGM Questions for the most honorable kitsune:

1. The text for doctor reads : " If your target would be hit by a night kill ..." . I ask because "night kill" is a specific term. Does this mean the Doc only protects against Mafia NK's? Or does it protect against any killing action at night?

2. When is the Reader told what role she scanned? During the phase she scans, or at the end of phase?

3. I love how the maf roles are ranked... that's cool. If I'm reading this rightly, it means that when the assasin is up to perform the mafia NK, it can't be stopped? Like... no docsaves, no first-mate-redirecting, no twin-mischief, etc?

4) If I said this, would it be accurate:
a) Mafia roles have "lowest rank alive" powers and "not-lowest rank alive" powers.
b) the lowest rank mafia memeber alive must be the one to perform their NK.

5. What happens if mafia rank 2 gets lynched/shot before mafia rank 1 does?

6. I like the idea of reaver restrictions on press. I'm asking ahead of time because it's the sort of thing a GM team might want to have a plan for: How are these press rules going to be enforced? (i.e., if you have to boot someone from the game for not abiding by reaver press rules, what happens to the sub? GM: "I booted playerA for, uh, failing to follow some, uh, press rules. I know he was posting normally, but he's gone now. btw here's his sub, play nice now kids.") Please see this comment as a contructive reminder for the sake of a good game, not an impugnment of GM ability or forethought. I'm sure you've thought of stuff already. I just want to know that you've got something in mind. It's probably best if the public DOES NOT know what these press rules are OR how they're going to be enforced, as part of the game will be figuring that out on our own.

8. If I'm reading this right: there are MAXIMUM only three reavers in the game total. If reaver prime dies before making two others, then reaver secundus inherits the ability to make one more. If reaver prime dies without making others at all, the faction simply loses. if reaver prime dies after making two others, then the other two are simply vanilla reavers.

Good question! The Doctor can protect against any killing action taking place at night. This includes Alliance mafia kill, Reaver mafia kill/recruit (noting recruit still succeeds 50% of the time), and theoretically Jayne's bullet (if fired at night).

At the end of the phase she finds the result of her scan, provided she isn't role-blocked by either Companion or Customs roles at this time.

That's broadly correct. The only ways the NK could be prevented would be via Pilot (as the target wouldn't be there to be killed), or the Assassin being roleblocked (and so the kill not going off).

Almost!

Alliance mafia roles have these binary roles (other than Alliance Mafia Rank 1, since they are always the lowest rank alive if alive, and so there would be no point in the other role). The lowest ranked Alliance mafia member alive must be the one to perform their NK.

With Reaver mafia, the NK is performed by the Reaver who has been in the Mafia 2 faction longest, the Reaver Prime.

5. What happens if mafia rank 2 gets lynched/shot before mafia rank 1 does?

At the point when Alliance rank 2 dies, Alliance rank 1 remains the lowest living Mafia (team) 1 player and retains the night kill. Alliance rank 3 is still not the lowest living Mafia (team) 1 player, and remains the Investigator at this time.

If at a later point Alliance rank 1 dies, Alliance rank 3 gets the Mafia 1 nk and becomes Assassin.

If instead Alliance rank 3 dies first, Alliance rank 1 remains the lowest living Mafia (team) 1 player.

We do have a plan in place for how to enforce these - and I've checked what I want to do against RagingIke's veteran experience and he feels it's a good and workable.

Good question! Both mafia factions MAY nightkill. In the case of the Reavers, the theme explanation for this is that they cannot find a good vulnerable target.
