What if the Mafia strategy was for the majority of the team (say, 3 out of 5) to claim the *fake* roles they'd been given, knowing they can't be CC'ed, in the hope that the claimants would survive into mid-game, and the one or two non-claimants could bus like hell and survive to the finale?

Possible I guess but I strongly support/advise the non lynch route until time appropriate

Yes. Exactly what I would do. The DP's only power is to turn its target Vanilla. The DP is *forced* to act N1. On N1 I frankly had few hard scumreads and there would be at least as much risk of disabling a useful town PR as hitting a scum.

The problem with town powers that have to be used early is that they have a high risk of harming town. Just look at Rdr's gunshot.

There might not be a janitor, or if there is a janitor, the mafia might have decided they wanted to know what Vecna's role was. However, if I was DP, I would have targeted one of my top scum reads N1 and targeted Chaqa.

At start of D3 we need to choose from a not so easy category (like a lyric from a weird band or a poem from an obscure poet) and ask them to post the same content at same time. The only way they can do that is using the Mason QT to decide the content and time, it's impossible to prepare to all possible categories.

I actually amnot fully on board with the mason-claims.

Try this on:
Itso claims by accident (responding, he says, to the massclaim thing.) It's a mistake, and his nervousness shows in his subsequent posts.

The scum team meats later... and decides to make use of it. First, to save Itso, and next to draw out the real mafia.

Why draw out the real mafia? Because they have a checklist of who they think is who. Real Mafia claimants can be checked off their list.

So they decide to offer up Foxy. No real Mason claimants have crumbed. (I don't know why Foxy, yet... it's the weakest part of my theory, atm) He claims to be the other mason.

They paint a picture of missed appointments, time zones, and struggles to connect. THIS is what red flags, for me. It's a QT. They don't have to 'meet up.' You write, "Hi..."

STILL no claimants (which is good, btw... if you, too, are a mason claimant, do NOT claim.) So they are pressed to come up with a plan during D3.

They do.

But it doesn't really prove it. It, too, can be crumbed, hinted, figured out...

And maybe the horse will learn to sing.

If this tinfoil hat is correct, it developed because itso slipped... and the scumteam tried to salvage and maybe draw out some more claims.

Bozo seems so very analytical and single minded. IMO, usually he is interactive and developing. Here he makes a wild massclaim proposal (which he must have known isn't going to work... it has the reputation of aiding scum more than town.. and there will always be a holdout.)

BUT if he were making this claim idea hoping some might jump out and claim.... it is a simply but worthy gambit. And if bozo is scum making this plan, he has no reason to fall from it. All he would need to do is keep bringing it up occassionally. Which is exactly what he has done.

Similarly, his list. Sure, lists are good. But it doesn't feel like he is using the list to drive discussion. He feels like a live Peterbot.

This is not bozo's usual play.

It is not, of course, simply AI. But when others' reads of bozo are put in the mix... it smells funny. It smells like a bozo trying to balance that 'lurkey' scum with the 'overactive scum.'
