Publishing First Draft of Diplomacy Variant
Hi all
I was unsure where to put this post, so in Off Topic it goes
I am an improving Diplomacy player, but have only played 2 games here and am in the middle of a third (all bot games). Most of my activity is on backstabbr.com.
I am creating a Diplomacy Variant, and am done with the first draft. It is set in Asia (excluding Siberia and Northern Mongolia) around 100 CE/AD.
Reiterating from the title, this is only for the first draft. I will look at publishing finalised variants later on.
I am looking for a place to share it. For now, I have no intentions of contributing this to webDiplomacy or vDiplomacy, as it has not been balanced yet. I would like to receive feedback on the variant rather than just publishing, so hosting on a personal blog is out of the question, since feedback in that case is very limited.
I have checked webDiplomacy forum, playDiplomacy forum, Redscape. The DVWorkshop is down, Redscape is inactive, and the forums do not seem to have discussions on publishing variants beyond adding to the respective sites.
Please recommend places to publish the first draft.
Thanks in advance.

This is a real account of a real person despite what the username seems to imply. I am asking for genuine advice.
In case anyone feels this would be better moved to another subforum, please inform.

https://webdiplomacy.ru
I never used it, but that's where people go to test their variants. Obviously publicize the playtesting here or on vDip to get English-speaking players.
And yes, that's a real website, despite what the Russian seems to imply. I am giving genuine advice.
If you have questions, reach out to Flame on webDip or vDip.

Re: Publishing First Draft of Diplomacy Variant
When you say share/publish what do you mean? Do you have a webDip compatible variant that you want to install somewhere public for testing, or are you looking to post a map and get feedback on it?

Thanks to all.
Kestasjk, I mean the latter. I'm looking for feedback. I'm nowhere near the testing stage.

Captainmeme, https://discord.gg/ZgSKZzbymM seems good. I will try to share the variant there.

JECE, thank you but that is for a later stage. I've only done the very first bit of balancing that keeps number of SCs and naive expansion potentials similar. Also, .ru sites are not really an issue as Google Translate has improved a lot.

Update: I'm now an active member of DVC and have 2 variants in development and quite close to playtesting.

And the winner of the "most unusual username" competition is....
I wouldn't ever set out to hurt anyone deliberately unless it was, you know, important - like a league game or something - Dick Butkus.
