They are too busy posting adverts for fake banknotes and passports on the forum. Those damned bots.
The only person you're truly competing against, Wesley, is yourself.

After some more messing around, it might ONLY be a bot playing as France in France vs. Austria that still works.bsbellmore wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 6:32 amNotably, I think the bots will still work in the France vs. Austria and Germany vs. Italy scenarios but not in Classic.

Yep looks like it's affecting these bots: Kestas Bot, Zultar Bot, Skynet, Jane, Cortana, Data. I believe these are the MILA bots? I've sent an e-mail to Philip Paquette to see if he knows what's up, but I've checked the API and it is returning the games which need orders to be submitted.bsbellmore wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 6:31 pmAfter some more messing around, it might ONLY be a bot playing as France in France vs. Austria that still works.bsbellmore wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 6:32 amNotably, I think the bots will still work in the France vs. Austria and Germany vs. Italy scenarios but not in Classic.
Yep checking the access logs it looks like the requests stopped coming on May 4th at 03:17 UTC+0 , so that was .. 11:20 am Wed my time.. I was working on the system but I can't think why it'd stop requests from coming in.
Re: Bots not entering orders
Okay spoke to Philip who pointed out an issue with the www.webdiplomacy.net certificate, it seems the MILA bots use the www URL, which apparently our status check scripts didn't catch. I've fixed the cert and will fix the status bot.
Still not sure what happened with that update, clearly some Apache config change, but it was just a minor release and I couldn't find anything suspect in the changelogs.
Anyway I'll keep an eye on it but it looks like the MILA bots are currently working through the backlog of orders.
Edit: Alright all bot order queues are empty now, and I've added a check so that if bots do have unprocessed orders queued we'll be warned about it

Re: Bots not entering orders
Thanks for reporting this; looks like DipNet is having some issues submitting orders, likely due to the new proxy setup. It's weird because other bots are submitting orders fine, looking into what's going on now
Re: Bots not entering orders
Oof that was a nasty one.. Turns out the DipNet bots actually use the beta.webdiplomacy.net domain (!) which I thought was obsolete and unused, and was running really old code, I didn't even think it was connected the production database.
As part of setting up the new proxy I rationalized some of the old subdomains I thought were no longer used including beta.webdiplomacy.net , and that caused DipNet's bot requests to generate some very unhelpful error messages.
I've redirected beta.webdiplomacy.net to the production site and will request Philip to change his bots to use webdiplomacy.net instead, apologies for the downtime.
edit: Also I'll add a check so that if there are lots of bot orders that haven't been submitted for more than a minute the system will stop processing and trigger the alert system.

Re: Bots not entering orders
? Software problem(s) infecting [real] Player's orders in two (2) AI games:
ID=450083 and ID=449859
AI bot Classic opening, Spring 1901. ordering ENG Convoy NWG Sea Yorkshire to Norway; Yorkshire move to NWY fails !
But with the SAVE button before "Ready" pressed, & also on the Spring 1902 (gameID=450083 - ENGLAND chosen, not random) the maps (plural!) all show blue Convoy line.
Fails appear in "Orders". ERGO, no English Build.
Same Convoy opening failed in gameID=449859 [also chose ENGLAND, not random assignment].
P.S. Attempting to contact via Mods gets Error msg.

Re: Bots not entering orders
NWG cannot convoy Yor-Nwy by itself; it is not adjacent to Yor. North Sea needs to enter the convoy order.
